USB Modem V ADSL Router/Modem

I currently have a Speedtouch 330 USB Modem which connects to my internet. I recently purchased the Zoom ADSL X6 Router which I am trying to replace the USB Modem with. If successful, I will use Internet Connection Sharing on the router to share my broadband connection with xbox live, connected to the router wirelessly with the official microsoft adapter. Although I do not know how to replace my usb modem with the Zoom x6, as my micro-filter uses both ports for the phone and broadband.

Is the Zoom ADSL X6 modem router supposed to provide connectivity for a 3G Kindle? If so, how do I set things up?

Zoom X6 routers don't work with either Kindles or Nooks- it seems the connect on demand to save power confuses the Zoom router - typically requiring the unpractical fix of rebooting the router every two minutes.

Not recognized by cable modem

Turn everything off for 2 minutes, cable modem, router and pc.

Turn on modem and wait 2 minutes for the modem to sync to TW.
Turn on router after 2 mins and wait until the router syncs with the modem.
Turn on PC
It sounds like your router lost its connection to the cable modem, which happens from time to time. TW will not help with your router. I worked for a cable co and the router and modem losing sync was the at least 70% of the calls. FYI cable doesn't use DSL,just the phone co.

I have a Zoom X6 ADSL modem that keeps dropping my internet signal. How can I correct this?

is it wireless connection or ethernet? Zoom routers have a firewall and when you have something connected that the firewall doesnt like (Xbox 360 or Gaming) it will drop the connection. goto zoom.com/x6 and it will give you instruction on how to by-pass the firewall using an different IP address.

You dont need both. Do the following:
Unplug your speedtouch from the phone line at the back of the speedtouch unit. Plug that cable into your Zoom. Then plug one end of an ethernet cable into router and one end into your PC. you need a ethernet network card, if you want it connected to the x6 directly, or you can get a wireless card for the desktop.
the instruction for setup the x6 is straight forward. but you need to follow it to the letter, otherwise it won't work.

Zoom ADSL X6 Modem "Link" Light Suddenly Blinks Continuously

the modem may have gone faulty so if your isp provided it ask them to replace it if the modem is in warranty period and if your isp provides internet connection through the phone line then first please try plugging the modem on main socket in with an adsl filter plugged in and if this is not the case then problem is definately the line through which the broadband signal come to your place which is suppose to be sorted out by your isp.
