07 corvette top will retract but deck lid makes no effort to close, then top will not go back up. Need to release pressure in block lift top up about 1/4 of way then top will go back up

Manually Moving the Folding Top from the Down Position
Important: Allow the system a minimum of four minutes to bleed down pressure after the last cycle.
Manually release the folding top cover latch using the emergency release cable.
Raise the folding top stowage cover.
Manually raise the folding top, holding the 5 bow up.
Manually lower and latch the folding top stowage cover.
Manually unfold the top and latch per normal procedure.

Manually Moving the Folding Top from the Up Position
Important: Allow the system a minimum of four minutes to bleed down pressure after the last cycle.
Manually release header latch per normal operation.
Manually lift front of roof off of the header and raise the #5 bow at the same time.
Manually release the Folding Top Cover latch using the emergency release cable.
Fold the roof down into the well.
Manually close and latch the folding top stowage cover.

Power Folding Top System Components
The power folding top system consists of the following components:
• Folding top control (FTC) module
• Body control module (BCM)
• Folding top control switch
• Serial data communication
• Folding top cover latch actuator
• Folding top cover pull down actuator
• Folding top pump motor with valve manifold
• Position switches and limit switches:
- Pin receiver switch
- Luggage barrier switch
- Folding top cover open switch
- Top open switch
- Top closed switch
- 5 bow raised switch
- 5 bow lowered switch
• Tonneau release relay
• TONNEAU PULL DOWN ACTUATOR Fuse 20 A
• TONNEAU RELEASE Fuse 10 A
• BATT 2 Fuse 40 A
• REAR FOG/ALDL TOP SW Fuse 10 A
• Folding top mechanical components:
- Folding top
- Folding top cover
- Folding top valve 1
- Folding top valve 2
- Folding top valve 3
- Hydraulic lines and cylinders

Folding Top Cover Latch Actuator
The power folding top system includes a folding top cover that is powered open and close by a hydraulic system that is controlled by the FTC module. A power unlatch motor is used to unlatch the folding top cover before the folding top control (FTC) module powers the top cover open. The folding top cover unlatching is requested by the FTC module via class 2 message, but is executed by the body control module (BCM). When requested, the BCM applies battery voltage through the folding top cover release relay control circuit to the tonneau release relay. The relay is energized and battery voltage is applied through the folding top cover release control circuit to the latch actuator. The actuator is energized and the latch releases the folding top cover.

The electronics on this are very complex ,

System Operation
Before any movement of the power folding top is allowed, the folding top control (FTC) module must be aware of the following conditions:
• Unlatch the header. The FTC module reads the pin receiver switch is Inactive.
• The windows must be normalized. Refer to Power Window Reinitialization.
• The ignition must be placed in Accessory or RUN.
• The transmission must be placed in PARK, or with manual transmission, the park brake must be applied.
• Trunk status must not be ajar.
• The luggage barrier must be in place.
• The pump motor temperature must be within the operating range.

After the last cycle of power folding top operation, allow the hydraulic system a minimum of 4 minutes to bleed down before attempting manual operation of the top.
Your best bet take and have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .

Soldering on the kitchen table, Class 101

If you are a DiY kind of person, chances are you get in there and put your finger on a problem. I hope this tutorial expands you DiY toolkit. My intention is to present you with basic instructions for tackling soldering tasks. For this tutorial, I will be using: Chem-Wik Rosin solder wick, size .100; Tenma Rosin core, 1.0mm, 60/40 solder, a wet paper towel and my trusty 45watt Hakko soldering iron. I will demonstrate the removal and re-installation of a defective capacitor on a Samsung power supply.

Please view my poor video to see a full demonstration of the techniques detailed below.

Prep: Allow your iron to heat for a few minutes until the tip will readily melt solder, then tin the iron and clean the tip with the folded wet paper towel.

Soldering is a form of welding, metals mix to form strong bonds. In the past years, the industry has mover away from lead alloy solders due to environmental concerns. I however, recommend them for repair purposes due to the lower melting temperature and ease of use.

The PCB board I will demonstrate on is a new PCB so the solder does not flow very easily. I will add my lead alloy solder to the terminals prior to beginning the removal process. This will allow the solders to mix and create a more fluid solder which is easier to work with and which will wick away more easily.

I then heat 1 solder junction and gentle push the component over, so that the leg I am heating becomes clear of the solder junction. I repeat this process on the other solder junction and the component is free of the PCB.

By applying the solder wick to the junction first, we are able to heat the wick which will in turn heat the solder. This method will allow the hot wick to melt and wick the solder from the copper pad of the PCB. You may need to repeat this, using a clean spot on the wick, to remove all the solder from the pad. Repeat this process for the second pad.

I then insert the new part, paying close attention to the polarity (if needed) and fold the legs over once the part is fully seated. This will hold it in place as you solder the component in place.

The most sure method of soldering is to first, apply heat to the junction of the component and the PCB with the iron. Then apply the solder to the junction of the iron, PCB and component. Never apply solder to the iron and then glob it to the part, this will cause a poor electrical connection. When you have applied sufficient solder to the junction, remove the solder and then gently slide your iron tip up the component leg and away from the junction in one light sweeping motion. Your solder should be shiny and appear wet... this is a good solder junction.

I then trim the legs from the part as close as possible; so that they do not cause an electrical short.

This concludes "Soldering on the kitchen table, Class 101"

Sears should have it. How do you know Sears does NOT sell this part?

My second row seats wont fold down

Sounds like your cable maybe broke or come off at the release mechanism under the seat. Sometimes you can replace the parts, other times its the whole seat. Id check to see if everything is connected and its not one that just came off. Lube up the mechanisms real good if everythings connected as advertised as with all the junk that gets under the seats sometimes they get gummed up.

How do you get the top down on 90 convertible

To lower the top. 1) open the drivers door and under the fiberglass cover there is a lever that will release the two pins that hold the rear cover down. 2) lift up the rear window part of top and reach under again to press button that will release fiberglass cover. ( there is also a button on the passenger door which is visible with the door open.) this is a electric relay switch which will produce a clicking sound and top will come up. 3) release the two levers on the front of the cover by pulling toward you. 4) fold cover in compartment and fold levers back to folded position.

One of the sides(the wider one) is locked in the open position.

On our pen the linkage was famous for binding at the junction(elbow) some slide forward to release, others must be squeezed, the best way to start is to flip it up on its side or rite upside down, just to reroute the pressure and (hopefully) allow the binding junction to release and fold. you'll have to fiddle with it but it should go. if its newer call the manufacturer, faulty bady goods can be cause for very costly legal infractions(they could get sued!)
which means they should try to help you out and hey, you find out your not the only person with this problem on this playpen.
hope it works out for you , Jon
here are a link with a couple of recalls:
