A mechanical watch will tend to stop in the same place if an internal gear is slightly unbalanced and/or there's a spot of grease/dirt that makes that particular point on a gear slightly more difficult to pass. I've often seen watches with day/date indicators stop just around midnight, as it takes more energy to advance those dials than just move the hour and minute hands.
Try winding your watch with the crown as opposed to shaking it to wind it via the automatic rotor. Actual winding will bring your mainspring up to full power much faster than a whole lot of winding via automatic rotor. See if this changes the behavior of the watch. If it doesn't, you probably need to have a watchmaker take a look at the watch. He or she will probably recommend cleaning the movement to clear any dirt that might be causing the problem.

hi , like all capacitor based watches you will need a lot of activity to put the charge back in and use the watch as the daily wear.
the other issues could be it requires a new capacitor contact seiko.

10 year old Seiko Kinetic (model5M62-0B00) blue face. Last week stopped and after some shaking started again but seconds moved in 2 sec intervals for a few hours. Went OK for a week and again last night...

After 10 years it will be likely that the Kinetic capacitor will need upgrading. Your watch is designed to tick in two second intervals to tell you the power is very low. The power button will work again when it has some power to show. Yorkshire Watches www,yorkshirewatches.co.uk can do the upgrade for you if your in the UK. Give them a ring.

Having been unworn for about 6 weeks, due to the strap having a pin come out, it was repaired at an omega outlet and now the watch is running 4 seconds fast every minute. any ideas why??!!

Let you watch run down compleatly than rest the time and put it in a watch winder or activate it the same way you have been the problem is the watch has not been used for a time

Watch is about 6 years old. Went in for a "clean and service". Running a little slow but otherwise ok.Cost $350.00. for clean/service. Now it stops intermittently. Been back to repairer four...

All decent watch repairers should issue at least 6 months warranty on their craftsmanship. If the watch repairer can not resolve the problem and your watch is still stopping, you can ask for full refund. Next time save your nerves and time - find on the web where your nearest Omega dealer is and bring the watch to them. It may take quite a lot of time and cost dearer, but you will have your watch serviced at proper Omega workshop and will get original Omega warranty.

Hi, my omega seamaster planet ocean has stopped. it has the co axial movement. is this serious? How do i get it restarted as it wil not with winding etc, thanks rob

Hi Rob, Don't worry if it's a genuine Omega and hasn't been subjected to serious abuse then whatever the problem may be it won't be terminal. All mechanical watches, particularly high quality watches such as this should be serviced every two to three years and in this case ONLY by a qualified Omega service person. Cause may be a simple as lubrication however the low fiction properties of these watches are fundamental to their revolutionary design. It may have become magnetised, or any number of things may have occurred to have caused it to stop. If you cannot wind it via the crown then the mainspring is wound by movement. Try shaking it for 15 to 20mins and if it doesn't restart take it to an authorised Omega repair service. Jo

Omega Seamaster gaining about 10 minutes per hour

Hi honestfunguy. Take it back! Omega watches are usually guaranteed for 2 years or even 3 years (Co-axial escapement), so you should not have a problem getting it repaired under warrantee. No way should it be be gaining (or losing) 10 minutes per day, let alone 10 minutes per hour. Could be any number of things, from a broken mainspring to problems with the timing regulator, but they are very complex watches and should not be looked at by anyone apart from Omega whilst in warrantee, otherwise you'll probably void the warrantee. Hope this helps; Eagle58

Omega seamaster

sounds like an auto wind watch, you must wear this watch most of the day to keep it wound up.to wind the crown must be pushed all the way in.
