you can install win xp ... as a second os ,,, or you can uninstall win7 and install a fresh copy of xp ,,, but you may need a copy of xp with ahci drivers included or else you'll get ( can't find any hard disc ) message ... win7 don't support upgrading or downgrading from another windows version (vista,ex...etc ) or to another version ...
you get this message when there is some hardware which is incompatible or fails / crashes during the installation of OS since you have tried a different hard disk already it cannot be that so try with a different Ram or update bios / replace motherboard.
Hi,
I don't think which OS you are using to upload a image to Craigslist. Means whether Win XP, Win7, Mac or any other os doesn't have n=anything to do with Craigslist's uploading. As you said there might be some problem in Win7 finding a path through a third party method. See whether you system requirement for installing Win7. If the system requirement does not achieve the minimum such problems can arise in win7. Hope this helps, please rate and let me know if any assistance needed, thanks!
Do you mean you are running a dual boot system? Meaning that you can boot to Win7 or Win XP? If you boot in XP then you will have to manually have to install sound card driver. Really need more details to be able to help you better.
If your Windows7 is x32 version, then your driver should work in it. But if you have x64 version, you'll get some trouble to install driver for XP in Win7 PCs. I've stuck the same problem like you, but my case was modem problem. Programs like game or other application that can be installed in XP usually can be installed in Win7 64 bit and extracted in Program Files (x86), but driver case is an exception. I've search via google but I got nothing. Actually, there is a way to install XP driver in Win7 which is use XP Mode in Win7, but you must upgrade your OS to Win7 Ultimate (I think, see microsoft website to make sure) so you can use this mode. or you can install two OS in your PC, Win7 and Win XP maybe. When you want to install driver for XP or if you want to do some work related to this driver, you can start up with XP OS, but if you want to do other work, use Win7. This is so unconvenient, but better than you can't connect your camera to your PC. Good luck Peter !
Hope this help and be kind to rate my answer please. (^_^)
You need to check if there any Boot Information in partition that is used by WinXP. In this situation best way is to reinstall Win7, and format all your partitions as you want in Win7 installations process.
You will need new drivers for Win 7. Before attempting to go to Win 7, run the Microsoft Upgrade Advisor and see what issues it lists: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=161223 (since laptops have on-board video that may be an issue). You will be doing a custom install from XP and have to reinstall all of your programs and drivers - many will be available. Several XP programs will not install in Win7 without some work (compatability mode or the XP mode virtual machine (in Pro or Ultimate). Upgrading your software may be needed unless you have the latest version that supports XP through Win7 or want to do the work-arounds.
In addition you would be wise to check for any BIOS updates for your specific machine and apply those. Windows 7 is a good OS if you have 2 GB or more of memory. It can run with less but it isn't better than XP in that case. The biggest difference is that Win7 will be supported by Microsoft for updates for a longer period (patches); XP will lose that support in the next few years.
I hope this helps. Cindy Wells (I converted an XP desktop to Win7. However, my video card could handle the OS and I have 2.5 GB of memory and a Windows Experience Index of 3.9 from the system.)
The reason is, it only happens when you try to install Halo 2 on Windows XP.
The Game gets installed perfectly on Windows Vista
Because, I have installed and played the game on Windows Vista. But, when I de-graded my OS to Windows XP and tried to install the game. It gave me the same error message.
So, if your OS is Win XP then try install on Win Vista if you have it or on your friends PC.
But if you are already on Win Vista then please do let me know.
Also could please let me know whether your trying to Auto install the game
or you are manually trying to install the game by clicking Step.exe?
I would be glad to find some help for you in this regard.
goto properties of the file and in the compatibility tab enable "run this in compability for" and select the OS in which it used to work well... this might help....
