Old sewing console with new machine

The foot pedal needs cleaning inside, or it needs replacing.

Best take it to a technician, but you may need a new foot pedal as this one sounds dangerous.

If you don't have any movement or hear the machine attempting to sew, you may have a burnt out pedal.
You should hear a slight hum when pressing on the pedal. If you don't hear a hum, the pedal is probably dead.
These can usually be ordered from the merchant who sold you the machine.

Dad taught me to service machines when I was about 12. Back then, foot pedals ran on small discs of carbon, and he gave me lots, to service My foot pedal. That was circa 1960. Likely you need a replacement foot pedal. I would look for one on Ebay. Just - where I find all sorts of 'Stuff'.

Make sure that the foot pedal is correctly plugged in and that the footpedal is still good

sounds like the contact in the foot peddle has failed try a new peddle
