To be honest this is the most common thing that happens to cold water fill washing machine its called cold water disease its caused with doing only 40 degree washes the only way to solve is to change the door seal and do a boil wash every week to kill the cold water disease and keep it away calgon is ok but would not need if you keep doing the odd boil wash week in week out that is for all cold water fill washing machine
Hi bob, have you tried cleaning the dispencer drawer that supplys the detergent to the tub? in some cases over time the detergent holder can collects small amounts of powder that can dry out and stick to the walls of the holder and when the machine is in its spinning stage can sometimes vibrate the dry powder in turn cause the powder to enter the tub also there can be a huge build up of liquid detergent like softners that can form a hard black residue in the holder in turn causing the clothes to collect black paticles. If all is ok then you could try applying a hot wash cycle without any clothes in the tub to flush the bowl from any contaminents, thumbs up if this helps thanks.
