GE WBVH6240 front load washer runs on 38 min. of the speed wash cycle then stops and door unlocks at 18 min. Tried to restart via the drain and rinse cycle at 18 min., the water pump comes on but no spin action and the timer counts down. Sounds like the water pump keeps running even with the power sw. off andthe water does not drain out of the machine, because by turning the drain plug counter clockwise releases water.

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.

The first thing I'd suggest is removing the filter in the pump you spoke of and insuring the pump is clear...there may be alot of water though so hopefully you're close to a drain or have some buckets/towels handy.

If that fails to resolve the problem it could be a plugged or faulty pressure switch. Have you run a system diagnostic yet ?

Here's how and the subsequent code meanings...in the event you don't know...

Let me know if any of this helps or perhaps you cannot read it, It is all included in the service manual I can send via email if you could use it.

Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

How do I unlock a whirlpool duet washer

from a previous discussion:

Wait at least three minutes after the end of the cycle before attempting to unlock your Whirlpool washer. The door will not unlock until the motor speed equals 0 and 180 seconds have elapsed since the motor control unit received the "Stop" command. If the water in the washer is warmer than 122 degrees Fahrenheit or the water level is set higher than Wool, Delicate or Hand Wash, the washer must drain before the door latch will unlock 2 Hold down the "Control Lock" button on your Whirlpool washer for three seconds at the end of the washing cycle. Listen, and when you hear the unlatching sound, the door should open.3 If your Whirlpool washer did not unlock at the end of Step 1, press and hold the "End of Cycle" button for five seconds to manually reset your washing machine.4 Unplug your Whirlpool washer and leave it unplugged for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, plug your washer back in. The washer's programming should be reset and the door should open.5 Manually unlock the door of your Whirlpool washing machine. Make sure to unplug the appliance before completing the manual unlock. Use a screwdriver to remove the metal strip, called the toe panel, at the bottom of the washing machine. Once you've removed the toe panel, reach up inside the front panel of the washer and feel around for the door latch. Locate the tear-drop shaped tab at the bottom of the door latch and pull it gently. When you hear a click, the door should open.

WBVH6240FWW GE FRONT LOAD control counts dow to 9 mins then jumps back to 11 mins in rinse and drain. I replaced the control. What else could cause this problem

Too much soap generally causes it to change time. Soap causes motor overload. The control detect over amping and declares a suds error. All machines have this built in though many do not display the error. Items between baskets can also trigger this.

My question is; the washer,model,wbvh6240 has any filter

No , all new front loads have a self cleaning filter. Therefore nothing needs to be emptied or clean. The little trap door in front of the washer is to drain it in case of a power failure when the washer is full of water. .

GE WHDRR418 top load washer won't spin at high speed; the washer does the complete cycle, and agitates in both directions and does physically spin, but it will not go into the 'high speed' spin that...

we can eliminate the motor and the switch since that part is working. sound like your timer might be faulty, timer make everything work in persistence cycles, if its goes bad sometime it tend to jump/skip cycles.

My GE Front load washer (WBVH6240) has an odor that smells like mildew in it. If the is left closed the odor is really bad. Do you know how to fix this or what is comes from?

run a empty cycle with bleach on whites/ sanitize. clean boot (rubber gasket at door) with bleach or other cleaner inside especially at bottom, make sure 3 holes at bottom are clear.
this may take multiple cycles to rid of odor.
For maintenance, you should wipe excess water from boot after last load, and check lower drain holes. Once a month wipe boot with windex or other. and run cleaner cycle (empty) newer machines have a special clean washer cycle. (6240 doesnt).
Also clean your drain pump filter at bottom front behind access panel.
If boot is really bad , replace.

Door unlocks and won't spin or drain

it sounds like a clogged filter
Please remove the filter on the side of the machine or the front.
Make sure you have towels handy.
Clear the filter out. If your pump cant empty the machine out you will get these problems
Make sure waterline is not obstructed
