Hello,

This is not necessarily a problem. The computer will utilize the cpu when it needs to, meaning, you are not putting much of a burden on the cpu if it is only running at 1GHZ. When you start to do more task, run more programs etc, you will see the CPU utilization increase!

I hope this is informative.
Regards,
G33k

In system information it states the processor is 1.1 GHZ? There are a couple of ways you can check the true processor speed/voltages. You can restart the computer and as it is booting up press the option to enter the BIOS. On some systems the BIOS will show CPU speed. There is a program called CPU-Z that you can use to see what the speed is. It may be just a reporting issue in Windows.http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.htm... <--download link

ok i downloaded it and i ran it. it says that my processor is running at 1102.5Mhz and it is a AMD Athlon MMX 3DNOW sse

  • Anonymous May 06, 2011

Interesting. If you open up Task Manager(Cntrl + Alt + Delete) and look under the performance tab does it show the CPU usage maxed out? I would recommend at this point to go ahead and install new drivers for your computer. I checked the Emachines website but they do not even list your computer as being under support. I read a posting from someone with a similar problem but they were unable to get help from emachines. One Alternative, is to see if a update from Microsoft provides any related computer drivers.

    Use this linkhttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windo...

  • Anonymous May 06, 2011

ok but it is in 2 versions and i dont know whitch to use

  • Anonymous May 06, 2011

I do not see two download options. On the link you gave me, click the big green download icon in the top center, not the top left. It will prompt you for a security answer, then you can download an .exe file. You should run this .exe file.

  • Anonymous May 06, 2011

yes but in the readme it says that you MUST use the right version, i think its the 512 kb because in the cpu-z says that the level 2 has 512 kb so i will use it

PC

First, your pc5300 memory runs default at 6300Mhz, not 333. Perhaps your motherboard Front Side Bus line is 333 in which case the memory will drop to that speed, but if the FSB and memory match speed, then it would run at 6300. Since you have an older unit, I would suppose you are running only 333, and that is average speed for that config. In addition, you are only running 1 gig RAM, which is woefully inadequate for Windows 7, so everything you do is going to be slow.

Owon the emachine t3256 I don't have a emachine folder or line on the all programs list

1) Right-click on Start

2) Left-click on Properties in the drop down list.

3) Left-click on the Start Menu tab. (Unless it automatically opens to the Start Menu tab)

4) Make sure there is a Green dot in the small circle, to the left of Start menu. If not left-click in the small circle to the left of Start menu.

Go below to the right, and click on Apply.
Now go below to the left, and click on OK.

Where do i get drivers for t3256 e-machine, drivers to completely r e-install Tower PC

Hello sage_morales,

A backup restore cd should have been created when the computer was first installed. But if you don't have the restore cd then this link on the emachines support site may have helpful information:

Need a prossesor for motherboard

You can also use any other intel 775 socket processor as well. The dual cores are at the top of the list for performance that are compatible with that board, but if you're looking for a cheaper solution, I have that board with a 3GHz pentium 4 and it runs great. Here's a list of all the processors you can use.
Intel Pentium 4 (2.66 - 3.80 GHz)
Intel Celeron D (2.53 - 3.60 GHz )
Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition
(3.20 - 3.73 GHz)
Intel Pentium D (2.66 - 3.60 GHz)
Intel Pentium Extreme Edition
(3.20 - 3.73 GHz)
Pentium Dual-Core (1.40 - 2.80 GHz)
Intel Core 2 Duo (1.60 - 3.33 GHz)
Intel Core 2 Extreme (2.66 - 3.20 GHz)
Intel Core 2 Quad (2.33 - 3.00 GHz)
Intel Xeon (1.86-3.40 GHz)
Intel 'Core' Celeron (1.60 - 2.40 GHz)

My Pentium 4 2.4 GHz processor is running at only 1.9 GHz. The bus, supposed to be running at 800MHz, is running at 398. The motherboard is Dell Optiplex GX260. Can someone please help me speed up my...

in the BIOS-setup, normally you can adapt the bus speed. as it's running at about 400mhz, i suppose it's set to auto. within the advanced system settings, you should be able to set the bus config to manual and then you can choose the appropriate bus speed below.

Slow laptop dv 9208 w vista

If you're having Vista, you will need 1gb RAM minimum. Vista is resource intensive, concentrated more on graphics, and a lot of Hardware compatibility issues. Windows XP is fine and better as of now which runs great with 1GB of ram and a pretty processor of 2.0 ghz ...If you think of speeding up ur lappy better go for XP .increasing ur RAM will increase the number of apps that you can run productively at a time.

Try going to the control panel>performance and maintenance>disk cleanup. After running cleanup run the defrag.
