If the down arrow button on your LG webOS UK6500AUA TV seems to be stuck, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Unplug the TV from the power outlet for a few minutes and then plug it back in. This can sometimes reset the TV and fix the issue.
Check the buttons on the TV to see if they are physically stuck or damaged. If they are, you may need to get them repaired or replaced.
Check the remote control to see if it is sending the down arrow signal continuously. You can test this by removing the batteries from the remote control and seeing if the scrolling stops.
Try using a different remote control to see if the issue is with the TV or the remote control.
If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact LG customer support for further assistance or schedule a repair for your TV.
Ray is right, the only thing you can do is to try new batteries, even if you feel the present ones are OK. The infrared sender in remotes does fail in time.
The Main Boards in these sets have caused remote control issues and could also cause the Reserved indicator to light. You will need the Model number, and the extension letters and numbers to the right of the Model Number to order the board. I would also have the Serial Number just in case it is also required.
Hope this helps,
Skyassoc
You might want to see if you can get a Universal Remote that will program to the correct code to operate that tv. If that still doesn't work - it could be that the infrared receiver in the tv went bad? Then you'd be going to the repair shop to have it checked out. You might do that anyway and they can tell you for sure ... if your remote really went bad, or if the problem is in the tv.
Change batteries,take the remote aparts,clean the circuits board with some alchahol with a Q tips.Not change same prob.must replaced the remote,here the website can get the exact same one 1-800-Remotes Factory original.
Is the remote a universal? Make sure you select TV as the the device you are trying to control. You can also fix a wonky remote by popping out the batteries and mashing down all the buttons. This rids the remote of any built up electricity that could be hampering functionality. Also, the remote sensor on the TV is controlled internally of course so a power drain of the TV wouldn't hurt:
1. Unplug the product's power cable so that the device is not grounded to the house. Do not simply turn off the power-bar if one is in use. 2. Press and hold in the products power button for 1 minute to release the retained electricity from the capacitors and circuit board.
3. Plug the product back into the wall outlet rather than a power-bar to rule it out of contributing to the problem and turn the device back on.
What do the buttons on the TV itself do? Do they work properly? If not, the problem is going hand-in-hand with the remote and again, the problem is internal and service or a firmware update, if available, may resolve this.
Good Day;
LG might be correct, but try these suggestions first;
1.) Change the batteries in the remote, and make sure they are properly installed; positive (+) to (+), negative (-) to (-).
2.) Take remote control to local TV service center, have them check it out.
Good luck, j73.
