What kind of Computer do you have? If its a newer Pc it might have a Card reader than you could use to get the pics of the card. Assuming you don't have a card reader try turning the camera on, While plugged into the Pc, Possible try a different USB port. Hope This Helps!

Best Wishes and Good Luck!!

Here are some steps to run through to make sure the camera works as you'd expect it:

  1. Ensure that all cables are properly secured from the computer to the camera.
  2. Ensure that the memory card has not been dislodged from the camera.
  3. Check the camera's memory socket and the memory card for debris. A can of 'compressed air' can work wonders (typically available at any computer store).
  4. Make certain that the port connecting the camera to the computer is not damaged. Look for any bent pins in the camera's memory slot. Try replacing the camera cable. If the camera uses a USB port, try another USB port. If you don't have another USB port available, try plugging in another USB device to verify that the USB port is working.
  5. Check the power source on the camera. If you're using batteries while attempting to transfer the pictures to the PC, try changing your batteries, recharge the batteries, or use an A/C adapter.
  6. Try reinstalling the digital camera software on your computer. In most cases, reinstalling over top of the existing software will resolve this issue.
  7. Take the media out of the digital camera and attempt to download it to another computer. If all else fails, try formatting the camera media. Most newer-generation digital cameras equipped with an LCD screen have a menu option that can format your media.
Hope this helps.

Pc transfer pics

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

You need to get a memory card. Then, go into the menu and find "copy" which will give you the option to copy the internal memory to the card. Then, use the card reader to download from the card.

Coolpix s220 won't transfer pics via usb cable

If you can get the pics using a card reader, why are you insisting on using the camera and USB cord? Pros always use a card reader.

Is the camera recognised by the pc as a usb 'drive'.?? If not try another cable. If another cable does not help, then the fault could be with the camera itself.
Try inserting the card in a separate card reader attached to a pc - if you can see the latest pics taken, then the camera is taking pics ok - and we are back to the transfer problem.

If you can see the pics in your 'my computer' then you can copy or move them onto your pc's hard drive. The fault then could be your Nikon transfer program. Try reloading the software as it may be corrupted on your pc..

Cannot download pic.s from camers to pc.

I would remove the memory card and use that to transfer the media to your pc.... I can't tell you why it is not showing up on any of the pc's. The only thing I can think of is possibly the usb cord is bad or that vivicam has special software you need to download. But you can definately get the media onto to your pc by bypassing the usb cord and remove the media from the card and place it in a folder on your pc .. hope this helps... good luck
