A CH pressure sprayer PW175000AV Ser# 00842 was electrically taken apart without noting how wires were to be reattached. There are 4 male spade connectors on rocker switch which works fine. Power has white and black, female spade. Motor has 2 black wires, both female spade. Pump has white male spade and black female spade. Motor starts great, but how do I hook it up so pump works too?

The only way I can get the motor to work is to hook the power to one side of the switch and the motor to the other side. There are no other connections for the pump to attach to. So clearly I have the rocker switch wired wrong. Can you help?

Hello Woodnflies,

I understand that you need to rewire your pressure washer. I understand that you already have the switch wired and the motor wired as they are working. You need to power the pump that has a white (common) male and a black (hot) female. You what spade connections do you have open to connect too.

You should have a black and a white that have nothing attached to them this is where the pump wires are going to attache in the circuit.

Thank you for choosing FIxYa.com

When you are wiring the switch is the white hooked up to it as well. You need to hook the two whites together and the (not thru the switch). Tell me how the bottom on the swtch is layed out.

Can someone tell me how to reattach , I don't know how to determine the positive from the negative..this is to a power chair charger

If this is the male end of United States common wiring for 110 volts A.C.,the black wire is hot and it connects to the smaller width spade lug. The white is neutral and it connects to the wider lug. If there is a green it would connect to the middle round one. If this is not the connection I am writing about, then please post the make and model number of the affected device.

Prime valve repair

In all the paint sprayers I've worked on, I've only been able to repair a couple prime valves and they went totally bad a short time after that. They can be taken apart and cleaned up but in the long run you'll be much further ahead replacing it if it isn't holding pressure in your system.

Atwood water heater lights and goes off. i can hit the switch and will light and go off. it has spark ignition. lights fine but goes out in 2 sec.

Remove the wires at both ends of the thermal cut-off that is located in the little plastic sleeve below the pressure relief valve area and it's connected to spade connector on thermostat disc. Once removed, connect the female spade from wire to male spade on thermostat disc, and try to light now. If all's o.k. replace thermal cut-off as it is a safety feature to protect in case of flame up.
If not, get back to me.

My atwood 6 gal lp water heater starts fine then shuts itself off after about 1 minute. Sounds like a thermostate issue but where is that located on the electric model? Thanks. Ryan

Look to left of burner, below pressure relief valve, behind foam cover. Letters should be THERM on one and ECO on the other. Peel foam back and you'll see a little disc, with 2 male spade connectors. Don't mix up the one marked THERM, with ECO, they are different temperature settings. You might want to remove the thermal cut-out in the plastic tube and connect the wires direct (your basically going to by-pass it) and see if that cures it first. Just disconnect one end from Therm, and other from red wire, and put red wire (female spade) on male terminal at therm. I've seen them cause similar symptoms. If that cures it, buy a new thermal cut-off and install it as soon as you can, as it's a safety item in case of flame-up from burner, it shuts of power to gas valve etc, to eliminate fire.

Dryer just quit heating

First-***DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICITY***. Open the back of the dryer. The element will be in a flat metal tube running from the top to the bottom of the back of the dryer. There will be a few wires connected to it. Mark where these go for reassembly. The heater wires are inside the tube. The whole assembly comes apart quite easily to replace the element. It looks like a stretched out spring.
