I think this is reffering to your cmos battery, switch off the machine and remove the side cover, have a look around for a flat cell battery, it is usually a cr2032 or similar, these batteries are cheap to buy (maybe £3 or so)the battery in question, if your not familiar with cell batteries, looks something like an oversized watch battery, maybe 20mm in diameter.

F1 POST Message in Dell Optiplex 330

Sounds like an incorrect setting in Bios I am not very familiar with this model but that is what happens when my Dell Optiplex GX270 does it.
Please check that all settings are correct and that you have not accidentally set it to require this action prior to boot up.

Hope this helps

When booting my dell optiplex GX270 desktop,"alert! system battery low pops out, press F1 to continue or F2 for setup utility" and the screen colour chances. please, what do i do?

i think this is the problem about your cmos battery so first you change your cmos battery contained in your lap top.it is attached with your laptop motherboard.

Dimension 8300 boots up to a black screen that says "Alert! Storage battery voltage low" Press f1 to continue, f2 to enter set up etc If I press f2 I can use the keyboard to scroll through...

i think storage battery low indicates that the cmos battery is losing its ability to reatin a charge. try replacing it. if that doesn't solve your problem, you have deeper issues. consult a professional if this is the case.

Anytime i switch on my desktop optiplex gx270 it will alert me of my low battery voltage and should press f1 to continue or f2 to run utility setup

That warning is referring to the CMOS battery.
Powe off, unplug the machine. Open the case and look for a small round silver disck about the size of a quarter. Read the number on it and purchase a new one. (Should be something like CR2032)
Replacement is faily easy as the old one just pops out and the new one pops in.
You may get an error about Time and Date
Hit F2 to get into the BIOS and reset the time and date

Hard drive has been wiped trying to re boot from windows xp cd. changed battery on mother board. getting alert low battery voltage and pc will not re boot. asking re boot trying pressing F1

It sounds like you either got a bad battery or one that is not compatible with your motherboard. Try replacing with a new battery that is compatible with your mb & see if this corrects the error. If you just bought the other battery you are using you should be able to get a refund or store credit towards the new one. Also make sure all the cables are properly seated as one may have come lose during original replacement. Hope this helps.

I have a dell GX 270 that has orange light on mother board, shuts down randomly, seems hot, and says Alert! System battery voltage is low. The fan is running but doesn't kick out much air..

The battery message means you need to change the battery on the motherboard, it looks like a coin about the size of a nickel. Which fan is malfunctioning, the power supply fan, the case fan, or the processor fan?
