Here are some instruction to help fix your problem.
Put the PSP down on a table with the LCD screen facing up.

  • 2 Plug the power cord of the PSP power supply into the PSP's power outlet. Plug the AC plug of the PSP power supply into an AC socket.
  • 3 Perform a hard reset on the PSP by pushing up on the power switch at the lower-right corner with your index finger.
  • 4 Count to 15. Release the PSP's power switch. Count to 30.
  • 5 Flick the PSP's power switch up with your index finger and release it. Repeat this procedure a second time.
  • 6 Wait as the PSP reboots, starts up and stays on.

When i press the home button oy psp, i cant use the directional bons to click yes so that i may quit the game i'm playing. and sometimes the "o" button seems to be pressed while i'm...

The problem, as you describe, is exactly that! One of your buttons is stuck down in the pressed position. If you press Home and the screen comes up asking you if you want to quit and a button is already pressed down, you will not be able to press X to confirm yes or no.

You didn't specify which PSP you have, 1001, 2001, or 3001, but the following website sells the part you need to fix this issue. They also perform repairs if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. It's a pretty cheap and straightforward part to replace:

Psp is new and after two days working it started to switch off while playing a game now it does not come on at all. battery good cause tried it on another

For psp slim model 3001 up

Don't let your psp battery be fully drain. It will automatically switch and when you restart you psp, all your games are not present. Because you need chicken software to upgrade your psp to version from 5.01 to 6.31 and then to activate the games you need gen-c software. so that all the games will be display and playable as well.

How do I play my games on tv using av cable?

The PSP system (model PSP-2001 and PSP-3001) includes a video-out port which allows users to connect and play the PSP system on an external display or television with AV inputs. It is important to note -- you can

    Component AV Cables (model SCPH-98550)
The Component AV Cables connect to the Video Out Port on the bottom of the PSP-2001 or PSP-3001 systems and allow you to output video and audio signal to a television display. The AV Cables support photos, videos (including UMD movies), music, and games. Please note for games to output onto an external display, the display must support progressive scan.

    Composite AV Cables (model SCPH-98548)
The AV Cables connect to the Video Out Port on the bottom of the PSP-2001 or PSP-3001 systems and allow you to output video and audio signal toa television display. The AV Cables support photos, videos (includingUMD movies), and music. However, output of games are only supported by PSP-3001.
