I just aquired this unit from a friend who was throwing it away because he thought the speaker was blown. I tested the unit and also thought there was an issue with the speaker, however I changed out the sub with a good working one and the same problem occurred. The problem is when hooked up through the low level RCA inputs, the sub has a crakling sound to it when the bass hits, I have changed between the two speakers and both have the same problem, I have tested the speakers in a different setup and they are both functioning properly. Where do I go from here?

Hi,
If possible check the crossover circuit board. There will be two or more ICs ( integrated circuits). fast of all just replace all the ics in that board. That ics will be very cheep in price. after replacing those ics make a test. if then also the cracking sound hears then you have to check the components amplifier board.

Marley CZ2048T - Fan Forced Wall Heater - if the thermal fuse is blown, when I turn it on, will the fan come but the unit throws no heats or will the unit just not turn on?

The unit does not THROW heat. refer to the instructions that came with unit, or did you THROW it away. The unit will not work. there is a high limit switch and a thermal fuse. R\Either on will cause the unit not to work.

Throw it away, usually there will be some damage to the voice coil if the excursion has exceeded the design specs

Radio speakers intermittent

Most likely a blown speaker, or a loose connection somewhere. Remove the speaker in the door and hook up another speaker. if the issue goes away then the problem was the speaker.

Sony Model No STR-DE475 blinks "PROTECT" even with no speakers

With all speaker wires disconnected and still showing the protect message, the short is internal. This is a rather common failure for these units. The output transistors are shorted themselves. These are relatively simple to replace and run about $15 each. Any service shop that repairs audio can fix this easily. Usually, once the outputs are replaced, you can get many additional years of service from the unit. Yes, it is worth it (in my opinion).

ARS108 gone

Since Acoustic Research went out of business, I too have been looking for a solution similar to yours. I may have found an alternative to throwing away this really nice speaker. I found a company on the web that appears to sell an amp that may fit nicely into this speaker enclosure for $99.00. Check it out...
