Welcome to FixYa!
You actually do not need to do that. Your watch should be up and running after you change the battery. Short-circuiting the watch is for restoring it to factory settings and it should be done by a watch professional. Doing a wrong short circuit will can damage your watch permanently.
Thank you for using FixYa. Have a great day.

How do i do this. After battery replacement, contact AC with (-) using tweezers

Shortcut battery with AC contact. AC can be found on the sides of watch movement(very tiny). You have to use pointed tweezers: one end on battery+, another on AC contact for three secs.

There is no CR920 3 volt battery and especially will not work for any Lorus watch. There is the SR920SW and SR920W series 1.55 volt silver alkaline cell.. 9 mm diameter x 2.0 mm height is an impossible size for this old Lorus watch.

I replaced the battery. was told it needed to be grounded before it would work....yep...how do i that? thx, rick

Remove and reinsert battery. If no result, proceed as follows:
Use a watch tweezer with sharp endings.Remove watch back cover. You will see somewhere on the watch chassis "AC" engraved. There is a hole with contact at the bottom next to "AC".Gently, put one leg of the tweezer touching this contact and the other leg touching the chassis, instantly.Check the display. If no result, try again. This short-circuit/ground will activated the internal circuit and the watch will start working. If you do not have tweezer, you can use 2 watch repairer screw drivers,as well.

I have a Pulsar PQ2001 LED wrist watch requiring battery replacement. The battery is covered by a sticker and seems to be ''clipped in.'' I afraid to try to force the 2025 battery out of its position. I...

You need to CAREFULLY peel back that sticker and on either side of that metal clip is a way to unclip it. I really would not recommend someone changing any of their batteries unless its a "cheapo" watch! If you touch the wrong area with the tweezers you could end up having to send it in for repair! Best bet here is to take it to a reputable watch repair shop and let them do it!

How do you change the battery on an ebel watch

Unscrew or pry off the case back. Remove the metal strap holding the battery in place. Sometimes you have to remove screw in the metal strap. Look on the battery for the type and order by that number. Put back in with fingers or plastic tweezers. Do not use metal tweezers as it will short the battery.

The battery of my XG-55 is down. I tried with several watch repair labs, but they told me that after changing the battery, the watch doesn't start again. Any advice?

When you change the battery on this watch you have to short the circuit board. You need a fine pair of tweezers and you need to look on the circuit board for an arrow or bare spot, put 1 end of the tweezers on that place on the circuit board and the other on the battery at the same time. that should do the trick if the battery was installed correctly and the battery is good.

What is the AC terminal which I need to short with the battery + when I change the battery?

The AC terminal is a little metal spot (usually a circle and usually gold colored) on the inside of your watch. Looking at the inside of your watch the "AC" should be labeled, though it may take a magnifier to identify it.
It may be labeled simply "AC" or it may have an arrow pointing to it. Once you locate it use a pair of tweezer or a paper clip and touch the battery and the AC together for a few seconds and release; you may have to do this twice.

Battery Replacement

Do not lay the tweezers across any contacts as you may damage the watch.
First you need to examine your watch movement and find an AC point (contact). Use an eyeglass, as the writings can be very tiny.
When found, touch an AC point with one arm of tweezers and battery+ with another arm simultaneously.
Some watches needs to do that twice, so, to be sure, do that twice.
If you are not comfortable with tweezers, you can use a thin wire, connecting one end of the wire to AC point and another to battery+.
Each shortcut should last for 3 seconds.

Do not forget to rate, please.

Buttons stopped working

Probably you changed battery youself. If that's right, then open watch again, take battery out and check it with tester if it is fully charged. If yes- put battery back in place and secure the contact. Now carefully check for AC sign on movement. When found- take fine tweezers and connectAC with battery+ for 3 seconds.
Watch should work now, but resetting is needed. Use your watch manual to reset all watch functions.
NOTE: Some movements require connect AC and+ twice. This should be written inside caseback or on battery cover.

Good luck.
