My Janome magnolia is 3 years old. Last week I was sewing and everything jammed, needle went to side and broke. It was trying to run but couldn't. I took bobbin out and cleaned it, oiled everything, where there was an oil hole. Then I put in new needle. Fly wheel was had to turn, but machine sewed. Today the same thing happened with a loud knocking and when I would start to sew it made a popping noise. now it won't sew, and flywheel is hard to turn. Also when I take my foot off sewing pedal it will take an extra few stitches before it stops. Thanks for any help or advice Patricia

Try the process of elimination. Take out the needle, take off the needle plate, take out the bobbin case. Run the machine. Does if run full speed? You might have to let the machine run for about 5 minutes. If it runs slow or you hear it slow down, you might have a bad connecting link between the needle bar and the main shaft counter weight. They seize up sometimes. (Shop Repair).

Janome Magnolia 7318 suddenly started making a lot of noise, sews a couple stitches then jams, bobbin thread tangles. It is clean, no lint or thread anywhere in the undercarriage.

Remove all the thread. Install a new needle. RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Confirm it follows the correct thread path and the upper tension is set at the midway point.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to take it for service.

My janome magnolia was working just fine and then all of the sudden the bobbin thread keeps knotting up. i've gone over all troubleshooting, cleaned out the lint, replaced the bobbin - all to no avail......

This happened to me on several occasions and finally one service tech told me not to use the needle down auto button. Instead when threading the bobbin just move the wheel toward you slowly until the thread catches.

I have a Janome Magnolia 7330. The bobbin thread will not be drawn up.

The easiest solution would be to change your needle. They do wear out, get bent, etc, and that makes it difficult for them to pick up the bobbin thread. If you did just change the needle, there was a hint here on FixYa about being sure to face the needle correctly. If you feel the needle, there will be a flat side and a curved side. Check your owner's manual to see which side should face which direction.

Needle Sticks - Huskystar E10

When it feels like the needle is jammed, open the bobbin cover and release the two black retaining levers, one on either side of the bobbin case. The hook cover that is visible will be released. If the machine turns by hand smoothly, you may have a piece of the broken needle, or just a piece of thread stuck behind the hook or hook cover causing the bind. This problem will sometime make you swear that the needle is stuck in something because it will usually bind while the needle is down in the fabric.
