If this is a Sylvania Netbook running Win CE 6 it is possible that the operating system simply doesn't have a driver for Virgin Mobile cellphone.

The only way I have been able to connect to the internet is via Wifi or a LAN cable plugged into the back. I doubt you will get any other method to work.

Please note the Wifi can be via a Wifi access point on your cellphone, a portable, mobile hotspot that connects via a USB modem or any other functional Wifi access point.

When i try to download a picture via mms i get a 401 error on my virgin mobile samsung intercept

Intercepts apparently won't download or upload when connected to wifi. Perhaps the telephone tries to connect to the network over the internet and the network naturally returns an "Unauthorized" error? I don't know but the problem clears up immediately when I turn off wifi.

I have a virgin mobile wireless internet card. how do i get my ps3 to pick it up

Unless the Virgin Mobile card you have is specifically supported by the PS3, you will not be able to plug it into one of the PS3's USB ports and have it working. The easiest AND most inexpensive method that comes to mind is to hook up your Virgin card to your PC, then have your PC share it's internet connection with the PS3. Microsoft has documented this setup best (assuming you are using Windows) http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-vista/Using-ICS-Internet-Connection-Sharing

Why wont my acer netbook allow me to enter the network centre or to connect to virgin internet either wired or wireless. i'm running linux lite not windows

go to the command line and type ifconfig

find the network adapter you are trying to connect with likely eth0 or eth1 if ethernet or wlan0 for wifi

then type

dhclient wlan0 (or whatever adapter you're using.)

if this doesn't give you an ip address, the virgin internet access point may not play nice with linux.

First try this:

Flip the machine over and find a small hole about 1in. diagonally from the right lower corner of the data plate. Insert the tip of a tooth pick into the hole and press down for about 10 second, with the AC power connected to the machine. It should re-load a fresh copy of the operating system

Internet connection

you should ask the Service provider for the settings. You need to configure quite a lot of stuff so and you'll never know most of the setting parameters. so better ask from the virgin
