I need to install my webcam it is HP truevision. how do i get the drivers.

Try this.

Did you go to the control panel/device manager to see if any yellow exclamation marks are there? If so then you are missing some motherboard drivers. If so go online to the manufacturer of your computer to search for win8 drivers.

Go to support on www.hp.com/uk

or use your country with two letters.
Then select webcam for HP TrueVision HD.

Reinstall the drivers.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HPSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the drivers.

The truevision HD software should have a gamma setting somewhere. If it does not go to www.hp.com and look for new drivers for it. If you have the latest drivers, and no gamma setting you are going to want to contact HP support. The webcam "could" be defective, or just cheap. If it is under warranty they should replace it after you spend some time "troubleshooting" it with them on the phone. If they refuse, be adamant, talk to supervisors until you get what you want.

To use the webcam you need the HP MediaSmart Webcam Software installed.
If it is not functioning well anymore, re-install it. In most cases the installed HP
software packages are saved in the C:\SWSETUP folder on your harddisk.

Check the version of the installed HP MediaSmart Webcam Software, and if you

its under the start menu i think its called hp webcam or there is a side task bar if you cannot find it. go to hp website type in your model number for support and download the drivers/software thats it. just did this on a compaq early this week (hp owns compaq) .
