I have a King Kutter brush hogger and am having trouble getting it connect to the New Holland tractor. The man who connected it for me last year is no longer around and the man I hired could not get it the Kutter level - it tilts slightly to one side, throwing off the back wheel. He could not adjust the length of the side shank pole on the right side. I always thought that two poles (with yellow plastic casing) were used to connect the Kutter to the tractor, but this guy was sure only one is used. Please advise.

You checked for a piece of post or rock stuck in the tines?

You should be able to turn the PTO shaft by hand. Suggest you disconnect the PTO shaft from the tractor and make sure the problem is the tiller.

The tiller end of the pto shaft has both a slip clutch and a shear pin to protect the gear box and tine shaft drive gear. See attachment.

If you are unable to turn the PTO shaft by hand with it disconnected from the tractor then likely there is something jambed in the tines or internal damage to the gear box or tine shaft gear drive.

Wal-mart sells KRUDD KUTTER and it works fairly well, I am sure there are other things out there. Your local Auto parts store will sell some stuff,also. Grease lighting Mean Green and scrub brushes may work, but I have had better luck with the Krudd kutter. Tim

If it is leaking around the shaft you can replace the seal.
