Check that your CF card is NOT biggerr than the unit allows... read the specs. A lot of equipment is having trouble with the larger memory cards. Unfortunately the smaller ones are almost non-existent.

MR-8. How can I hard reset?

Generally, a hard reset is initiated by pressing a dedicated reset button, or holding a combination of buttons on some mobile devices. Devices may not have a dedicated Reset button, but have the user hold the power button to cut power, which the user can then turn the computer back on.

Have new min-etune gibson studio. charged battery, put in, nothing happens. no lights no nothing? Now What

Press down on the battery, which will allow it to pop up, as if you were going to remove it. Press the power "on" button. More than likely, your Min-Etune will now work fine.

When I insert a Compact Flash card into my TD-20, the green light above the CF slot blinks and the rest of the brain freezes up until I take it out. When I insert the card prior to power-up, I get a blank...

The card MAY be the wrong format for the unit. Also the maximum size for a CF card in this unit is 4Gb. Check that yours is not bigger than that. There has been SOME compatibility problems of flash drives... try a different brand.

How do you wipe out everything and put back regular settings on the mpc 2500

from the akai forums:

to set the os back to factory settings press and hold the erase key till the mpc has booted to the main screen.

to erase the harddisk goto either the load or save screen and then choose utility - there you will find the option to format the hdd.

you can also format the drive (or any inserted compact flash-card) from your computer thru the usb connection, but it is recommended to use the internal format because the mpc can be a little picky when you format it from the outside.

at first i would check if there is any folder or the internal memory is set to autoload and just turn that of or point it to another folder of you choice. that way you can keep the factory delivered sounds. maybe you want to use them later, even if it is just to explore the mpc. the factory sounds can be also downloaded later, but be advised that there are different iterations of the stock sounds, depending on whether your mpc shiped with a 32 or 128mb compact flash card.

also the mpc os is not on the harddrive but in the internal memory. to check the version hit mode-> pad10. latest official version is os 1.24. if your main srceen looks different than in the manual check double and triple before you do anything, because the previous owner might have installed the third party jj os which comes in different versions. some of them cost a lot of money! if you find this check the other forum here for the alternative os.

My denon DN-MC6000 is not responding at all to any of the parameters on virtual dj... i was working at first then i upgraded my software... i have checked the firmware and tried going back to the old...

Hi,

please turn on your denon device and then press and hold the following combination of buttons: back+fwd+ (cf mode) . Now, you can turn on your device and (after 4 seconds) release the previous buttons you were pressing/holding. You should see the option to default settings appear on the screen. Once selected, your device should restart. For more details, please check page 21 of your device's service man ual.

Thank you.

I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SET UP MY ROLAND JUNO D WITH MY AKAI MPC 1000, PARTICULARLY HOW TO SET UP THE MIDI ON THE ROLAND.

Simple way is MIDI out from Juno to MIDI in on MPC, then (depending on how you want to work), connect MIDI out from MPC to the in on the Juno. If you do this you MUST turn local control off on the Juno or else you'll get double triggers (internal + msg in from MPC). Now to record sequences on MPC , set MIDI to as track in setup window (on the 2500, this is accessed by pressing MODE then pad 9, then press button under the corresponding tab [on LCD]) then set your MIDI channel by port, meaning if your MIDI cable is physically connected to out A, in your LCD in bottom right corner it will show as follows: 1A. This indicates you are transmitting on MIDI channel 1; port A. Remember, MIDI IS NOT AUDIO!!!!! Since the Juno is a synth and not a workstation, all transport controls are handled by the MPC, that's pretty much it... Hope this helps a little, enjoy!

P.S. Go to mpc-forum.com its THE sh**! They also have links for their e-book I have one for the 2500 and its awesome!!!

I have an older mpc 1000 & just today it started changing the programs & number of bars of the sequence I was making when I pushed the cursor.

There is probably a switch problem. IF these use the conductive rubber contact type switch buttons where a "pill" of conductive rubber is pressed onto a circuit board with traces, CLEAN the contact rubber AND the circuit board with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and Q tips. This type buttons feel "Rubbery and squishy" when pressed.

If the buttons have a hard tactile feel, then check for a bad button that might have broken internal parts and replace it... OFTEN you can tell by the "feel" when pressing compared to others.

In either case, disassembly and service is required.

The memory card says unformatted card

Refer to your BR manual for procedure to format the card. Formatting the card in a PC just doesn't cut it.

Look in your index in the manual for "formatting" or "card"...etc.
