Yes, a new battery should do the trick. Here's a link to the battery for your model on ebay, offered by several sellers. I recommend only buying from US sellers that ship from the US.

If your Sony is older then 3 yrs I urge you to get a new battery. Make it last longer by draining the battery and charging it up everyday. This gives it a work out and helps it not get lazy.

most probably your battery is dead........if you have it still under guarantee then claim it, if not, buy a new one...and don't overcharge

Mine is a Sony VAIO VGN CR353 Laptop. I have a problem my laptop doesn't boot with battery in also It shows a message on the battery on as "Plugged In Not Charging". I tried many ways to...

How do you know it is not a battery problem? It seems obvious that the charger is working as the message you get tells you it is getting power to the laptop. So it looks like the solution is to get a new battery, also indicated by the fact that you can't boot with the battery in.

Sony vaio vgn-fs630/w. the ethernet port and usb ports not workin

Hi,
The best thing you can try is a Static discharge.
Please remove all the external devices. Unplug the power adaptor.Remove the battery. There should be no electricity connected.
Then press the power button and keep your finger on it for about 30 seconds to release any build up electricity.
Plug in the adaptor and battery again and see if there is still a problem.
Maybe is a good idea to get a surge protector in the future.

Purito

I reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows Xp on my Sony N-TXN15p laptop. Now my CD/DVD drive isn't being recognized. What can I do?

You will need the drivers for the drive. When you look at the devices in device manager (devmgmt.msc) do you see any drives under DVD/CD-ROM drives?
