If the tractor is not going up the hill, you could need a new drive belt, and check all the pulleys, idler and Flat, some are plastic and the belt will burn a flat spot on the pulley, had this happen to ours one Husqvarna yth 12348 lawn tractors, it may not be the transmission like they told me.

there should be a routing diagram sticker somewhere on the deck. look at the back side of the deck in the middle
