I plug my C-1U microphone into my computer, but sometimes the light will go on and off. Other times, the light will come on and there is no sound being captured while I am recording. What's wrong with this?

Why does my computer tell me my cou1 mic has malfunctioned everytime I plug it into the usb port?

Sounds like a defective mic. Test it on another computer, with another USB cable, and if it still doesn't work, call customer service and they'll send a replacement.

How do I get my Behringer C-1U mic to work?

I'm having the same problem, however I can say that Phantom Power is out of the question. the c-1u is a variation of the c-1. The difference is that the u doesnt require phantom power

I got a behringer c-1u mic and I plugged my USB in the pc and it says no drivers are installed for this device and also the green light of the mic flashes soon as u connect it then dims out and stops...

Either you haven't yet installed the drivers (usually a CD that comes with - or can be downloaded from Behringer Website),

AND/OR your bios settings dis-allow plug-and-play USB devices. Restart your PC and enter Setup to check..

AND/OR your microphone is bad, have you had success with it on another PC?

AND/OR your USB Port is bad - are you plugging directly into the PC's USB, or a seperate multi-port Hub? I once had a multi-port USB Hub that burned up anything I plugged into it.. Took me about 3 devices to die before I simply changed the hub. Pwoblem solved..

Hope this helps...

I have a Behringer Mic C-1U and its not powering up!

How to Operate a Behringer C-1U

The Behringer C-1U is a USB condenser mic for recording individual instruments. A condenser microphone is a mic that uses vibrations produced by sound to change the distance of internal plates that produce signal. Condenser mics typically require an extra change, known as phantom power, to operate. Since the C-1U is USB powered, phantom power is not needed. The Behringer C-1U has a frequency response that favors sounds around the 10KHz range. This heightens the clarity of recorded signals due to the microphone's treble boost.

Things You'll Need:

* Computer with USB 2.0 port
* USB cable
* Recording software

Instructions

Turn on the computer. When the operating system loads, connect the microphone.

Install any necessary drivers for the C-1U. This will happen automatically when the device is connected.

Select the Behringer C-1U as an input source in any desired audio software. In Windows, click the "Volume" icon in the task bar to open the mixer. Select the C-1U as the primary input. On Macs, use the "Audio/MIDI Setup" in the "System Preferences" menu to select the C-1U as the primary input

Note: make sure you activate the phantom power on the mic. That's the only way to power up the microphone.

Have a nice day.

The c-1 mic is not working. The red light will not turn on when i put it into my laptop

With the C-1 it does require phantom power to work. On the board your using make sure the +48(phantom power) button is pressed in and it should be golden.
If it's the C-1U, the drivers must be installed first. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/C-1U.aspx

How do i get my computer to recognize that the device in my audio jack is a microphone, and then use this input microphone instead of the realtek built-in microphone that i have for skype and googlephone?

Go to Control Panel to "Sound and Audio Devices"
Select the Audio tab, select the device you want.
Sometimes, you have to go as far as going to the Device manager
(right click My Computer/Properties/device Manager) and select the microphone under the Multimedia options and disable it.
This should disable the ON BOARD microphone built in.
Then you can plug yours in the MIC jack.

good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

1/ I switched computers, downloaded the program on the new, and now I can't get a voice. The microphone is on, volume is on. 2./ somehow 4 people with off color ads are on my messenger list and I can't...

I assume you're troubleshooting a problem with your microphone, since you mentioned that.

1. Verify all physical connections are all the way in. Speakers and microphone sometimes stop before they are all the way in.

2. Verify that you have sound (play music or any sound file). If Windows Media Player gives you an error, google it (use caution here). If there is no sound and no error message, reinstall driver for audio (from Mfg website or "Driver" CD that may have come with your computer).

3. Use Control Panel, Sound, to check for settings that mute sound (check boxes). If you change anything document it carefully beforehand and test frequently, as there are many settings. If you change something and it does not fix the problem, it is a good idea to change it back right away--unless it's obviously wrong (mute checked).

3. If all else fails, try the illogical solution that sometimes works for me: Remove the microphone plug from the back of the PC (plug and port are usually pink). Plug it into the wrong hole (blue or green), then plug it in where it belongs. Every 8 years I find a microphone that is not fixed by any of the usual (logical) fixes. And this has worked twice for me.

Computers, you can't live with em, and you can't live without em!

Hope this helps. Please rate the answer. It's my first post!

Please also seperate two questions from now on. It's impossible to tell which one you are still trying to solve. I know nothing about deleting people.
