No solution, just a workaround. I have used the H2 with firmware 1.90 successfully with Windows 7, but lately the H2 is not recognized anymore. Built-in obsolescence maybe? Anyway, I just take out the card and put it in a card reader. It is faster also. Card readers are cheap.
Adding the date to the image is in your default settings under "menu" in your camera. Scroll through each choice until you find turning on or off the date in the photo. Set it and then choose "ok" and exit. This should solve your problem.
This Camera doesn't have the feature to superimpose the date on the pictures. By using the supplied Picture Motion Browser Software, you can print or save the pictures with date.

It looks like the phone software had been damaged. Try to do first a factory setting reset from phone setting menu. If this does not fix it you can try downloading phone software update, probably this will sort it out.
