I had bleached blonde hair and wanted to dye it back to a mid brown. After researching on the internet I read that I should put a base red colour on first as a filler and then a mid brown. I used the Koleston red specials 55/46 yesterday then dried my hair, and then went through the whole process of dyeing again using Koleston 7/75. It had no effect whatsoever and now I'm stuck with bright red hair! What should I use to get my hair back to brown? Thanks

SOURCE: Can I dye my hair blonde for a day?

Not exactly... the term "dye" causes a lot of confusion, but dye generally means making the hair darker. To make the hair lighter you must use a special bleach. Hair bleaching is permanent and cannot be rinsed away. It can be dyed back to it's original color however, but the bleach does damage to the hair. In extreme cases, where the hair was dark brown or black and is bleached to blonde, the hair becomes very thin and resembles the texture of cotton. You can lighten hair temporarily by using theatrical hairsprays. These come in every color of the rainbow including white, gray and blonde. These color sprays actually sit on the outside of the hair strand, and can be shampooed completely out after brushing the hair.

SOURCE: Can you dye your hair after you get brazilian hair

It is not recommended to apply more than one chemical process to your hair, since it is very damaging. But when working in the salon, I would suggest that the client wait 2 weeks before having another chemical process done (perming or coloring) if that was what the client wanted.

So yes you can, but it may be very damaging to your hair.

SOURCE: have bleached my hair using

I would not do that. if you are wanting to go darker. If you are blond and you use an ash color, it will go really ashy or bluish. However if you are trying to go lighter, yes you can. use at least 30 vol. and follow timing instructions.

What do I use on brassy hair. I want blonde hair

Toning the Orange Out
Toning neutralizes unwanted brassy tones to reveal a cooler blonde or light brown shade. The trick is figuring out which color toner to use. If your bad bleach job has come out more yellow, you'll need a purple toner. A purple shampoo can also help neutralize the yellow.

If I have natural blonde hair then decide to dye it head in the clouds blue permanent from Garnier, will I be able to return to my natural color r blonde if I don't like it?

If you die your hair, you can either wait for your hair to grow back out(which could take a while) or you can bleach your hair to make it look semi normal so you could have blonde hair again.

I used the hair product colorsilk revlon golden blonde 71, it did not dye my hair it lightened it. why did that happen

Being a mere male (with grey hair) I am not an expert but I read the product description;

"This Revlon 3D Color Technology, with a combination of specially blended dyes, conditioners and polymers, delivers natural looking, multi-tonal color from root to tip, not only boosting your hair color but also adding definition and dimensionality. The result: completely transformed, natural looking, multifaceted color and shine."

I take that to mean the product is a colour booster rather than a hair dye - in other words your hair would need to be approximately that colour to begin with.
My limited knowledge might be out of date but I always believed if a person wanted hair of a lighter colour it would have to be bleached and not dyed.

I have my hair dyed dark brown but it always comes out two toned with a lighter color in it kind of red. she uses an ash now . the top is always two toned. just want a more solid dark brown

I'm assuming you are a brunette... I am too and this happens to a lot of us when it comes to dying our hair. Most brunettes have natural red or sometimes a dark blond highlights so there for when we dye it it will come out two toned. Everybody's hair has some type of natural highlight. However if you were to have blond hair and went straight to a dark brown it will actually permanently stain the hair causing any further dying is to be expected. Try dying your hair bases darker than the second tone. Next time try a cheasnut brown paying extra attention to the known areas of discoloration. Hope that helps hun

I have dark brown hair. I have bleached out the colour so far using bleach and peroxide. It has ornage and brassy colors now. I would like a golden blonde colour to cover the brassiness. What colour of...

I have been a hairdresser for 30 years! This is what needs to be done YES use a ash based color ! Use a 8 or a 9 with 10 volume peroxide and it will tone down the brassy color and make it a nice golden blonde with the least amount of damage to your hair ! Compared to the others advice!

Gray turning red when colored.

You have to look at it as if your grays were blonde, it's going to have a red hue to it as if a blonde were to dye it the same color. I suggest using a gray touch up in a darker brown tint first and then dying all of your hair a day or two later. This should prevent it from turning red and give you a color that is closer to what you're looking for.
