First try multiple disks. If another disk works then problem solved, you have a bad disk. If that does not work try to gently blow dust away from the lens.

Does it read other disks?
try a few difference DvD's.
if other disks work, the disk you want to read is broken.
if other disks do not work, your dvd player is broken and you should get a new one or contact JVC if it is still under warranty.

Says "No Disc"

If you have put a dvd disk in your dvd player, and it says "no disc" then try cleaning it with a dvd cleaning disk. It could be that the eye of your dvd player is dirty. You can get a dvd cleaner at any department store.

If you have put a dvd disk in your dvd player and its a home made or "burnt" disk and your player says "no disc", it usually means that the disk is the wrong format to be played on your dvd player. Try another disk.

If you have not put any disk in your dvd player, and it says "no disc" its just telling you that there is no dvd inserted for it to play.

When i burn a disk on dvd,it will not play on my dvd player?

Some DVD-players only read 'DVD-R' disks.
Some DVD-players only read 'DVD+R' disks.

Be sure that the "blank" disks you are using are compatible with your DVD-player.

Program says dvd+r incompatible with toshiba dvd player

Some DVD players will read 'DVD-R' ("minus-R") disks.
Some DVD players will read 'DVD+R' ("minus+R") disks.
Some DVD players will read "both" types of disks.

So, if you're burning onto a DVD+R disk, you won't be able to "play" the disk on your Toshiba DVD-player.

Instead, buy "blank" DVD-R disks, and write on them.

Suddenly my DVD player is saying "no disc" after trying to load DVD. Why isn't it sensing the DVD has been loaded?

When a DVD goes into DVD player it has to spin it and read it. If your DVD player is not reading the disk. The disk could be dirty. The DVD player might need to be cleaned. You could be trying to play a PAL disk on a NTSC player or Visa Versa. or the region coding might be wrong. Try playing a clean disk that you have played in it before. That might tell you if you need to clean the DVD player.

Dvd keeps reading no disc

It can be several reasons
1. Disk is upside down
2. Lens is durty. You will need to use CD/DVD cleaning disk for that
3. Disk is having diffrent region code or recorded in diffrent formate (for instance player playback disk recorded in NTSC, and you trying to playback disk in PAL formate)
4.Disk is recorded at higher speed (for instanse player markered X16, but disk is recorded at X24)

Play Back

Some DVD players can't read -R & -RW disks. When you finalize make sure it is in Video mode not VR mode so the recorded disk will be able to work in most other DVD players. Also some DVD players only read recorded disks rated up to 1x, 4x, 8x, 16x, or a combination of these speeds.
