The light fixture needed to be repaired. It never worked when I bought the house. New light bulbs didn't worked. I replaced the two ceramic light switches that had corroded wiring and reconnected blue to black and white to white. I have a dual wall switch that controls the fan and light. Now the light only works when the fan is on. The light on my other identical fan works without the fan on. Is the wiring problem in the fan or switch. The switches are different.

If its a duel switch that controls lights, and the fan seperately. sounds like the power for the lights is going directly to the fan, and therefore making the lights work also. also check out switch, make sure power is only going to the lights, with light switch on.

if all else fails, just turn power off to the other fan, and see how it is wired from switch to fan.

My fluorescent shop light fixtures sometimes does not go on and sometimes the bulbs just flicker without giving much light. What's wrong?

If your shop is in your garage, and it is cold outside, the two-pin fluorescent tubes don't work very well. Garage lighting (fluorescent) should be the HO (high output) type. It operates on the same voltage. The tubes are not interchangeable. You need a HO fixture. If your shop is inside your house, then flickering tubes (assuming that you tried changing them out with new ones) indicate a bad ballast inside the fixture. You can either change out the ballast, or for almost the same price, replace the fixture.

Dont know what model I have.It has 1 light fixture, not lamps,Went to turn fan on at chain, and didn`t work.It is the chain, when I got a ladder& looked the chain is laying in the light fixture.A little...

I suspect the "little plastic or ceramic bit" you saw, is the chain stop to keep the chain from winding up inside the housing when it's bulled and released. Can it be put back on? I doubt it, but is worth a try. Since the chain is not inside the fixture. It may be simpler to replace the the whole pull chain switch. It's not difficult to do and you can pick up a new switch from Lowe's or Home Depot for about $5.00. Take you old one with you for comparison purposes, as they come in different sizes.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

How to change a headlight bulb in a saturn aura?

Access to change the headlamp bulbs is through the wheel well. The recommended method is to remove the front tire and then the plastic inner fender liner. Once removed, you'll have easy (more or less) access to the rear of the headlamp housing.

Tradewind range hood- model PSL736: both lights out, fan works

The screws by the lights probably only hold the fixture in place. If you took the screws out you would only get access to the fixture and maybe some wiring. If you have already replaced the lights you can assume its not the fixtures. Not likely both fixtures failed at the same time. The common problems would be the light switch. You would need to gain access to the switch and then check that for power.

You already know house power is good because the fan is working, But since both lights failed and new bulbs don't fix the problem it would most likely be a switch.

According to their website it looks like that whole front panel should come off including the fixtures and the switches.

MAKE SURE THE POWER IS TURNED OFF......REMEMBER THE FAN WON'T WORK IF THE POWER IS OFF.

Once you remove that you can check the wiring harness for the lights. You may also see wire nuts on the harness double check those as well.
