Changed out atx power supply because computer not powering up. Do I replace with same motherboard with same or buy new Windows 10 Box.

ok, a simple hardware question only. w10 could careless about PSU. (facts) mobo is micro atx size 24.4cm x 24.4cm
not powering up has many causes, even simply stuck in sleep mode. (power on button held for 10seonds and released last is 1 cure. of about 20 causes (up to)
GA-F2A78M-D3H (rev. 3.0)or rev. 4.0????? rev is on bottom left of mobo, normal tower case. no case told
the PSU is called ATX and all work here 500 to 750watts
24 pin power is normal
but CPU power uses 8 pin power plug PSU.marked ATX12v
psu lacking 8 pin, can use 4 to 8 adpater.
vast here work, in real ATX case not micro cases.

Does nothing when I try to switch 'ON'. I press a few keys on the board and F12 light comes on

old Compaq CQ57 2011, year.
so it ran for 4 years and today fails?>?????
that evidence points to loss of power,
that means inside the PC, DC power rails dead.
yes do run sans bug huge battery on AP power pack
remove all USB devices first, any of 20 modules can short in any PC and shorts cause the VRM power regulators to shut off, making any PC maDE GO DEAD.
try a new power pack? using the wrong one are you, we have like 5+ powerpacks under our desk and all are now labeled to not mix them up. even blow up things using the wrong Power PaCK.
Then remove all HDD/SSD SATA drives
then remove the the DVD drive.
get screen and fans and bios page1 working first (a goal)_
ok do the 10 second hold power button down and release intel reset/??????
beyond this takes hard work on laptops, stripping it down to min.
the COIN cell is not dead at 4 year mark. it be good I bet.
PC allowed to cool 1+ hours is still dead.
all PCs made die of overheat (called saving their own bacon ,logic)
here is the strip down, it is amazing all that can fail and do.
even a bad PC ,DC jack cracked.

Vertical strip of flashing horizontal lines on Acer Aspire 7551G screen

More than likely it's the lcd screen and will have to be replaced. I could be the video card, but most likely the lcd screen especially when you can put pressure on the screen and cause changes. To isolate the problem try connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the laptop. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok, then the problem is with your lcd screen and the video card is ok. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same as your lcd screen then the problem is with your video card inside the computer.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

Once you narrow it down to the lcd screen as being the problem you might try taking the lcd screen apart to reseat the lcd cable on the back at the top of the lcd. Just unplug it and plug it back into the connector. You can also try doing the same where the lcd cable plugs into the motherboard. Just pull it out and put it back.

I am having some difficulties with my biostar G31-M7 TE Ver. 6.5. When I start up the machine, with all well in place and cleaned, it never shows anything on my monitor. The monitor works, but keeps...

I am answers for Monitor /PC mobo dead. only ,not windoz ever, and Linux works best here. fact.
I see you lost the beeper device (SOLVED ) !!!
Not putting in a new RTC CMOS COIN cell battery first, is bad. ($1 fix)
A bad coin cell make BIOS Dead or BIOS tells all lies endlessly. the cure is $1

well no history told at all , 11 years old and coin cell dead. I bet.
bought a bad 11 year PC that or just failed 11 years in use,
bought it dead, or failed just out of the blue, not TOLD
no history of PC told. at all.

the mobo some versions of 7, beep and others flash led codes.
dead PC , monitor tests good.(evidence)
no signal means video port dead or set to the wrong port on the monitor,do not trust auto mode set it manually in OSD. ok
is this a VGA cable , no bent pins?
Does the PC have PCIe video card , if yes remove it and use the case mounted vga port blue on mobo rear edge.

Dead signs on relic VISTA PC.2007MOBO.
FIRST OFF BIOS DOES NOT MAKE SOUNDS TO ANY SPEAKER PORTS. EVER. (WINDOWS DOES)
YES THE POST BIOS BEEPER CAN MAKE BEEPS ON ANY AND ALL P.0.S.T ERRORS.
NO PHOTOS YOU PC AT ALL, REAR NOR INSIDE WITH LEFT LID OFF,(so they helper is blind.
next you never said the monitor is VGA, sorry we can not guess that.
Not told at all if monitor was connected to the chassis (vga port or the VGA video car.s

no fans.????? (pcu FAN DEAD, ,CPU FAN DEAD, OR CASE FANS DEAD, AND IF GPU CAD, GPU FAN DEA.
NO CLUES THERE TOLD AT ALL AND CPU/PSU FAN MUST NOT BE DEAD.
forget EXT speakers, unplug that. until , monitor works now and windows runs, (or linux, etc)

no beeps, hdd heard (ear)
no bioSTAR splash screen means pre POST is Dead and bios is dead. and VGA port is dead.
bad PSU or PSU overloaded it seems to based on limited evidence.

no lights so that means power button led is dead
a new coin cell battery is first
bios hot key is? num-lock key OFF !!!!!
F2/ DEL:? is reset bios to defaults (im reading your manual to you NOW) if you can get a splash screen . and post to finish.

the monitor must be good and no-signal tells me that texted to screen. so monitor is good.
the most sad part of all no photos posted of rear of mean, So I can see things connected wrong (sad :(
The VGA port is dead and PSU is dead too.
why is the question
CPU socket has bent pins, seen used mobo on ebay lots. Core 2 Quad / Core 2 Duo / Pentium D / Celeron
1:coin cell dead. sure it is. (next to CPU)in a vertical socket,.
2: PSU not bad (caps inside a wreck, bad) 4 pin and 24pin DC power plug to mobo , now.
3: PSU overloaded, strip down the PC. to find what is shorted
4 : MOBO jumpers missing or inserted INCORRECTLY per the MOBO manual , words. JCMOS1?

DO not flash bios on any sick PC or you brick it, (oops buy it dead like this OOPS)
testing first
monitor VGA cable to VGA port rear of mobo, mounted to MOBO called the onboard VGA port.
no PCI cards NOW
no usb devices (keyboard added if BIOS wakes up) use rear USB for keyboard only (for now)
no hdd or dvd drives connected. not yet.
1 stick of DDR ram tested 1 by 1.
no video cards. now. (just to be clear I repeat this ok/)
If the PSU is not bad , now, and monitor still dead, the MOBO is bad
PSU 24 pin and 4 pin power must be connected to the mobo now. the 4 pin us just above the VGA jack,
if all is still dead. unplug the PC (PSU) from wall AC power overnight or more
IN the morning or later try again. (PCs can in fact latch up, and this AC power trick , can wake it up
and now the BIOS SPLASH screen shows and F2 BIOS hot key and all BIOS pages work,, now.

Warning , never hot plug any parts inside the PC with AC cord connected to AC WALL power.
that is called Hot swapping will blow parts up, for sure DDR. memory for sure power DC cables hot swapped (boom)
do not do that and not wreck good electronics

Hint1, the keyboard LED dead mens lost of 5vdc , from the PSU., (USB ) if using USB keyboard , not told that. P/S2?

Hint2: some version of these mobo (many) have no onboard BEEPer device (sonic) not sure how it does POST errors, but the book says,(free) some have beeper device and the manual shows AMI beep codes page 25
v6.5 is not easy to find docs.
also some BIOS here use he DEL key (not F2) to gain BIOS pages. at power on. (keyboard USB only)
the caps lock key must not be set wrong or DEL key will be dead (DEL/dot) dot mode fails on some.

this PC was built in The Cap plague year 2007, so was PSU? and they all leaked acid or bulged.

to bench test a PSU ask, (using just a paper clip unbent) ASK

oddities, on this mobo, wow, losts but this one takes the cake

Monitor flashes and turns off on Pavilion a1410y. Same monitor for computer, never changed. I took the monitor off and used it on another computer...works fine. I am thinking video card, is there a way...

happy new year@!
power on, PSU faN RUNS, OK, cpu FAN RUNS"
EVER CLEAN OUT ALL THAT LINT INSIDE? BLOCKING AIR FLOWS.?
My guess, screen never shows text ever.! or logo's
no screen stated, make and model.
A1410y bad. PC. for sure. no video but what ,video is never first.
you cant test MUCH lacking spares.
you did the only test, monitor is good, hope that was done moving it with this potentially bad cable, VGA?

i cant see inside your PC desk top.
2006 PC , with no onboard VGA jack.
Athlon 64 (V) 3800+ 2.4 GHz
  • Manufacturer: Asus
  • Motherboard Name: A8N-LA
  • HP/Compaq motherboard name: Nagami-GL8E
3 pci slots and 1 express x16 for video
gee is the x16 , slot with video card there. making it 2 VGA now.

the x16 slot can have just about any card there. made
but less that 75watts.
over that needs special PSU and cable betwixt them.

if the fans run, never stated by you. both fans
or 3 if the X16 slot GPU card has a fan as do all higher powered do(most)
then the PSU is dead.
we strip pcs down to find shorts, shorts happen.

see the red arrow that is Mr. VGA.
the coin cell ther too, is dead now, get rid of all RTC coin cells
now, lacking a good coin cell the BIOS goes dead. or nuts.
bottom right is coin, shinny nickle plated. cell battery

The Problem may be due to the defective inverter unit inside the monitor. Dry to resolder if any dry joint on the inverter PCB or replace the inverter board.

Removing a screen protector from a Hitachi 50UX58B Projection color TV

There is a black plastic strip that fits into the groove at the top of the frame holding the protector and front screen. Pull that down and out (you might need to pry a little to get it started). The attached picture shows the strip partially pulled out at the right edge (photo depicts the top right of a 58K - with a wood cabinet).ea84b4b.jpg
Once this strip is removed, you should be able to see a gap (~2mm) between the top of the protector and the frame. Pull the middle of the protector toward you (you may need to hook it with something like a chrochet hook to get it out to where you can get a finger on it). Pull out one side of the protector, then work it loose fromt he bottom. (If it is stubborn, you may have to loosen the bottom frame. Take of the speaker grill, then unscrew the screw on the bottom of the surround for the control panel and pop the surround out. Then there are 3 screws that hold the cabinet frame {might me different for the 58B} and beneath that, 3 screws that hold the bottom of the inside frame. Once those are removed, you should be able to flex the inside frame enough to loosen the protector.)

Installation is the reverse. There are two grooves (at least on my set), and the protector goes in the rear groove(!) (same as the screen itself - first time I tried to put it in the unused groove closer to the front of the screen, and that iddn't work). The black plastic retainer strip goes in the front groove.
