Jvc power cinema NE for everio digital video camera, no sound on dvds??

Hello all,

I purchased a jvc everio gz mg 465 60 gb hdd video camera. it seems to be a good camera for the money. the first few times I burnt dvd there was no problem. Then yesterday I went to do it again and find that there is no sound on the dvd's, or for that mater when the video is played on widows media player. But when played through jvcs power cinema the sound is fine??

I did a search and found someone mentioned using windows movie maker, which I like the idea of using, but it wont recognise my camera?

I have burnt about 4 different dvds playing with the settings for sound and nothing changes. It worked fine the first few times so I'm confused. I'm not a complete computer idiot, but I'm no guru either.

Should I
A. delete the power cinema and reload
B. is there another software I can use that will recognise the camera

Help!

I have the same problem too, however im trying to make a movie using windows movie maker, but when i play it back there's no sound. i've done some reasearch and i've found out the files the video recorder makes are .MOD and different programs such as windows movie maker are only fimiliar with different files such as .AVI and .MPG , so in order to get the sound up i need to convert the .MOD files to .AVI

    I just can't find a good converter!

Hi,

I had a similar problem, I could play videos on my PC but they had no sounds.
I found a solution

In theory *.Mod Files contains mpeg format for the video and AC3 format for the sound.

In my case I was missing the codec fot AC3 format.

I downloaded one here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ac3_filter.htm

And it worked

Sam
