Just bought an RCL3210 TV. The odd thing is that the Channel up/down key on the remote control does not change the channel. Also, the up/down channel key on the TV itself also does not respond. When you press the keys (either on the remote or the TV) the channel that you are currently on appears on the screen, but it does not move forward or backwards. To change channels, you must enter the channel using the numerical keys. All other keys work (ie.. volume, mute, sleep etc...). Is there a setting that I might have overlooked? Aurel

You need to find how to CLEAR the auto channel settings. Sounds like the TV is set to SKIP all channels. Look for a MENU and then look for an AUTO setting that will walk through all channels and set those where you have reception as the "list" that the remote and the Up/Down buttons on the tv will choose.
PS: GREAT writeup on your problem and the things you have tried.

Check out my solution here:

It's for the 37" version, but also works for the 26" TVs with little variation.

Hope it helps,

Menu will not come up. Channel will not change. No remote.

brendee89,
I did not get who the manufacture was of the tv but you may want to see if one or more of
the menue buttons are stuck down on the tv's front panel. This has been a common cause of
problems with Mitsubishi and Sony tv's. It could also cause volume to go up by it's self, no menue
functions, no power up and or no remote control functions to work.
Hope this helps,

Thanks but i need more help

Don't be panic.
Check the batteries of your remotes control. FIRST
Be sure to aim the control to the sensor of your tv.

Usually you have one remote for your tv and the other to control the cable box or digital box.

You have to set the RMC10 again using the code of your tv Silvania (like the first time)
Then set your tv on channel 3

Another thing, be sure that you are hitting the right buttons.
The control doesn't work if you hit on the top any key instead of cable
What i mean?

The remote has on the top 4 key usually (tv, cable, vcr, aux, etc).
You must hit first cable to set the control to cable

1, Manually turn on the device(TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
2. Press and hold the code search button until the red indicator stays on, then release the code search button.
3. Press and quickly release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, ect.). The red indicator blinks off once.
4. Press the Channel up button repeatedly(up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks off with each button press. If you accidentally overshoot the code required, press channel down button to backtrack through the library until device changes channel. Pressing Channel up changes direction forward again.
5. Press and release Mute to install code.

Remote control

Is this a new condition?
Or has it operated differently in the past?

If you are connected to any kind of box (satellite for example), there is only one channel that the TV sees; usually 3 or 4.

The channel changes are limited to the box.

Remote control won't work with cable channels

Sounds like the TV needs to be re-set thru the menu by auto-detecting the channels and remembering them.

What kind of tv do you have?

I am stuck on channel 2

some tv's default to channel 2 after being unplugged.since it is a older tv ,the buttons on the remote and the tv maybe worn down.on the tv itself try pushing the buttons down a liitle harder. if you have aux or line in/video inputs, scroll down on the channel button to log into a aux channel for the dvd player.as for the remote try buying a cheap universal remote to see if that works.
good luck
