Have you checked to see that you've set the correct resolution for your desktop?
The specifications say that the laptop's display can show 1024x768 pixels.

Set it to that first. Anywhere below that resolution (for example 800x600) may be causing black borders on your screen.

Dear milly, so is it clear that this happens on all games or just some? tell me a little more about your system and games you play, I'll try and help. JLS

Once you change the resolution to a smaller size and you see the black border, go into the monitor's menu and there should be settings for the Horizontal and Vertical size/position. Adjust those until it looks correct.

got to control panel, desktop settings and select the type of resolution you prefer. there are option settings that you would like to prefer.
