Hi,

On your label you should see the number 2150 plus a type number. There might be another part to the name, such as Predator or PR. You need the entire model to be able to find parts.

Here is the customer service number should you label not be readable or you still can't find it: 1.800.554.6723
or email at www.poulan.com customer service option.

If you find the model and need parts, here is a web address for Milaca Lawn and Garden:http://www.milacalawn.com/parts.asp
They provide parts schematics and fast delivery.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Handie Andie

Chainsaw won't idle- runs fast only

Gently Tighten the carb adjustment screw fully tight then adjust it out 360 (full turn) then again a further 180 ( half a turn) and your idle speed should be set correctly. Let me know how you get on

Poulan 2150 chain saw starts after priming and dies after a few seconds

Take the exhaust off so you can see the side of the piston, if it is scored or damaged it means it has probably been run without oil added to the petrol.
That can cause the problems you are having, if it is throw it away, its not worth repairing

Poulan 2150, chain oiler not working. Chain is getting very hot.

Try to pour some gasoline only in the oiled tank and look if the gas comes out, if not the tank is clogged .

How do you re assembly brake handle poulan 2150

Hello Larsens;
A Poulan "2150 Predator Gas Type 6" IPL follows (may not be your saw)(the LE suffix is a Wood Shark) http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/2150-Predator-Gas-Saw-Type-6/75.2150-Predator-Gas-Saw-Type-6.1.59.1.html
There is no breakdown, they want you to order a new cover $20±. The cover appears on different print names with different models (Handle & External Assembly) above.
Poulan.com (all)
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.

Do you have a friend with a cover you can look at? The brake will need to be lached open (enlarged) to refit the clutch cover on your saw.

Detail A here is a good representation of a Husky chain brake, they are all similar and this may be helpful.

I have a Poulan 2150 chain saw which needs a new chain oil pump. What is the cost to replace it. Should I just buy a new saw.

If you perform the labor repair likely <$20 (<$9 for pump, <$1 worm gear). Compare replacement cost to 34cc± replacement, your call.
A link to a Poulan 2150 Gas Saw Type 7 follows (may not be your saw):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/2150-Gas-Saw-Type-7/75.2150-Gas-Saw-Type-7.1.59.1.html

If the link is not your saw it can be found here.
The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for the oil system and it is sketchy at best. Oil components and part numbers are listed but may be on different illustrations. They are also beneficial with disassembly/reassembly:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.
The oil pump is under the outboard clutch, this is helpful with removal.

  1. Check the IPL for your saw to see if any special tools are needed. Poulan (Craftsman, Jonsered, Husky) clutch removal tool part number 530031112 if needed, is under $5 from many sources (look at the visible area between the weights if 2 small round sockets are visible you need the tool).
  2. There are metal piston stops available, when square (almost never) with the piston top these work well, if not square they have been known to punch through the piston. I suggest a length of nylon rope (nothing left behind) be used instead of the piston stop (retain 6" ± so you can remove it). Make sure the piston is near the top of the cylinder before feeding the cord or it can fall through the exhaust port and damage the piston as it rises.
  3. Everyone I have ever removed had a left handed thread (tighten it to loosen it).
If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH
