How do I set the time and date on my 43-3829 answer machine?

Hi, here are the instructions for setting the time on a 43-3825, which is a very similar model. They should work for your machine too.

1. Press and hold TIME SET/CHECK/>> until you hear it beep twice. 2. Press ANNC/DAY/<< and the machine will say a day. Keep pressing that button until you hear the correct day. 3. Press REC and the machine will say the hour. Keep pressing it until you hear the right hour. 4. Press >= (the play/pause button) until you hear the right minute. 5. Once you've gotten the correct day and time, press TIME SET/CHECK/>> to save it.
While you're doing this, you can't let the machine sit idle for more than 5 seconds at a time, otherwise it will exit the time setup and you'll have to start over again. Good luck!

My power was off 2 days. My GE phone shows

the time needs to be set on your answering machine. If you buttons on your base press and hold the day/check button to set the day of the week.
Most likely you don't have the base buttons on your model so on the hand set press the flash button to enter the answerer remote mode. Press the 8 key to enter time set menu. Set hour an dmin using num buttons. Set am/pm using caller id buttons. Press #pause to confirm the setting. Set day of week -/+ and #pause to set them.

I lost the information to set up my phone. Is there any way you can e-mail me a short way to put the time and date on the answer machine.the machine model # is 2811ee-2 by ge.Thank you for your help in...

I assume that your model number is 28112EE2 (there is no 2811ee_2). If that's the case then here is how you do it:

1. Make sure the answering system is ON.
2. Press and hold the DAY/CHECK button to set the day of the week.
3. Press and hold the HOUR button to set the hour (a.m. or p.m.). Example: 12AM, 1AM, or 12PM, 1PM.
4. Press and release the MIN button to advance the clock in one minute intervals. Press and hold to increase by 5-minute increments.
5. After the time is set, the real time clock will be displayed on the handset within 1 minute.
NOTE: You must set the day manually. You may choose to set the time manually as well, although the time is automatically transmitted by your local phone company as part of Caller ID service. If you subscribe to Caller ID service, the current time is set automatically when you receive your first CID record.

In case you need a manual for later use (or I was wrong regarding the model number), you can find the right one here.

If you have any more questions, come back here and leave a comment, I'm happy to help.

Good luck!

CL code

My phone was also flashing CL and the 0, after a power outage. After I set the date and time it was fixed. Press the flash button on the handset and use the caller ID buttons to set AM or PM; use the numbers to input the correct time. Then press #. Repeat for setting the day and press # again.
