SOURCE: Refrigerator freezer is not freezing, all items

Hi

Check the back wall or floor of the freezer section for frost. Check the evaporator fan to see if it is running. Check the condenser coils under the unit for blockage from dust. Check the condenser fan under the unit to see if it is running. If you have frost in the freezer there is a problem with the defrost system and the freezer will start to warm eventually as well as the fresh food section. If that is the problem you can check the defrost terminator, defrost heater/s, and the defrost timer or adaptive defrost control If used on your unit or the main control board if so equipped. These things usually require dismantling the freezer and other areas of the refrigerator to be checked.
You could defrost the freezer by disconnecting the power to the refrigerator and letting it sit for at least 24 hours with the doors open to allow the frost to melt completely but it will build up again in 1-2 weeks and start the warming up again.

However there are various reasons as to why refrigerator is not cooling. Please check this link to get an in-depth knowledge related to your issue:-

Water dispenser line frozen, items freezing in fridge side. Freezer constantly running/blowing

Your freezer is what actually cools the refrigerator. The cool air enters from that spot on the top left of the freezer. Make sure that isn't blocked. It's sounds like the thermostat that controls the air flow from the freezer to the refrigerator isn't working or the air flow control device is stuck.

Either way if you can, unload and unplug the unit. This will do to things. First it will reset the circuits that control everything and secondly if the air flow control is frozen thawing out the refrigerator and freezer may free it up.

Everything works but no water

Try turning down the freezer a little.

You can 'thaw' the water line in the door by hanging some towels in the freezer with the door open. Should thaw in a couple hours. At least this way you don't need to empty the freezer.

Freezer is only cool, everything melting

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.
