Orange light on D

Ha! We used to have loads of these - if I recall, it was a network adapter error - otherwise, check the motherboard for blown capacitors, they'll be bulging or even spewing yellow gunk out the top. This was a very common issue and Dell should replace the board free of charge.

My Dell Optiplex 745 Desktop PC Power light orange blinking how can i solved it..

Hello,
The orange blinking on your desktop power button says that there's a problem with either the power supply or the motherboard itself.
Please refer to this link for the diagnostic lights on dell computers.
What you can do is: 1. unplug the power cord 2. press the power button, hold on it for more than 5 secs 3. re-plug the power cord on your CPU 4. test if it the system will work.
If this troubleshooting step does not help, that means it is more likely that the problem is with the motherboard.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
dell only knows 2 colors blue and orange... if you have no light on the mother board when power is plugged in. then your power supply is probably gone. considering you didn't mention beeps I would say thats it.

Can anyone tell me what the orange light on the power button means? I am using a Dell GX270 and the PC will not start. You can power it on but nothing happens.

If you are getting an orange which we call in technical terms amber colored light it means that your PC required either the power supply to get replaced or the motherboard (Blinking amber or steady amber) both are guiding towards the same issue. It is better you first check it with the replaced power supply if not then motherboard is the sure shot solution

Dell Optiplex GX270 will not start and power button is orange

I think that it is most likely that this is a power supply going bad. These can be purchased cheaply on eBay (make sure the picture matches). This replacement is moderately technical.

The other good possibility is a bad capacitor(s) on the motherboard. This is very common for the GX270s due to a manufacturer defect. Most of them failed in years 2-4, though. This would require a replacement motherboard (very technical). Pictures of bad capacitors: http://brianmorristech.com/?p=105

It could also be related to the power connector from the power supply to the motherboard (unlikely).

Another good option would be to buy a used GX270 from eBay and put your hard drive into it.

Orange light on Dell GX270 power button

A solid orange light, usually indicates an internal power problem but just in case try reseating the memory. Also its become a habit on a GX270 to check the capacitors to make sure they aren't bulging.
