I lost the remote control to my Toshiba TV/DVD player: model no. mD13p1. When I put in a DVD, I do not know how to select anything other than "play". I can't watch a movie with subtitles for example. How can I use the buttons on the TV to do "scene" set-up" etc.

You may find that these don't work. Often, with combination pieces like yours, you will find you are lucky if you can get a universal remote to turn it on and change the volume and little more. The fact that Toshiba did not build this peice can compound the problem. My suggestion, if you can't get the universal to program up, is to use the original remote for the set. If you do not have the original remote it is available from www.encompassparts.com for around $15.00 plus shipping. The original part number for the Toshiba remote is 72796929.

The remote code 0142 worked for my Toshiba MD13P1.
