I got it off. All you need is pliers. You take pliers and twist the bottom of torch with them. It'll come off in a minute or two, just keep twisting!
All The info I can find nothing tells us how to change the batteries. Is this a rechargable light, if so the batteries are not available for replacement. If not then the top has to screw off, or the bottom plate must screw off, there isn't any other way. What I have read is that these on this light are very hard to remove, at least that is what folks are complaining about. this light has also been discontinued and no longer availabe. if your afraid of breaking the light then I would contact Coleman for their advice since there seems to be none to be found on any bulletins they have put out.
The bottom of the flashlight (opposite the end with the light) actually unscrews. I had to get a pair of pliers to get mine to unscrew, it was on pretty tight.
Well I feel better knowing that the bottom did unscrew like I suggested and I also did mention it would be hard to remove from the complaints I read. Glad you finally got it off!
I got so exasperated that I just threw mine in the trash. Any product so poorly designed deserves to become garbage!
Mine became garbage after spending 15 minutes trying to replace the batteries. Who designs this ****?
Okay, so it's not just me. Spent 2 plus hours trying to get the end off, now it's going to flashlight heaven!!!
didn't work on mine, so I tossed it
I unscrewed the back above the blue ring, replaced batteries and its fine
marilyn's suggestion worked
also, to adjust beam, dont twist the head, slide the head up and down, no twisting.
