My phone is not listed in the mobile list for nokia in my new htc desire z. My old phone was a Nokia 1661. It won't let me go any further with transferring the data ie contact lists, old messages in my in box etc.....

Old messages inside the inbox, can either be carried by the sim card to another phone or it would be left on the phone memory of your Nokia 1661..contacts are always carried by the sim card..therefore whenever you transfer your sim card to another phone..the contacts will not be erased, it will still remain as it is.
