WANT TO MAKE ASK MY HOMEPAGE

In Internet Explorer. Go to Tools in the upper left hand corner, then in that box click internet options at the bottom. A box will pop open.

In the top of that box will be an address. Delete it and type www.ask.com then hit ok at the bottom. Do not hit apply, hit ok. Should be good to go. Open a new webpage to make sure it stuck.

As a side note, if you don't see the line on top of your screen that says file, view, favorites, tools, and help do this...right click with your mouse on the top of the page ABOVE (not in) the address bar and make sure "menu bar" is checked.

Good Luck

Sidebar has suddenly moved to side affecting size of screen. How do I return it to bottom???

You are probably talking about the windows Task bar that normally resides at the bottom of the screen:
.
Two ways of moving this task ba, to top/bottom/letft/right position of the display:
  1. Move the cursor on a blank/inactive area on the task bar, usually in the largest blank area towards the right, click and hold the right mouse button and drag the Task bar to the bottom of the screen.
  2. Go to the Task Bar 'Properties' (You can get this context menu by clicking the left mouse button after putting the cursor on a blank/inactive area on the task bar) and change the 'Task bar location on screen' option.
Hope it helps: let me know how you go.

Internet explorer task bar missing

Try pressing the left Alt key alone. Does the menu bar appear?
Try right-clicking the area where the menu bar is supposed to be. Try different spots around the upper part of the window, eventually you should see in the context menu an option to turn on the menu bar.
