Printer will give a message of paper jam appears to be unable to pick up paper from tray . Can I fix this with a new paper tray if so where do I get one ? Or is there a better solution

Hello, Your printer makes a "grinding sound". This is usually due to two things:
1. A dirty printhead rail. It is either ink residue or dry. Try gently cleaning it with some water.
2. Paper pick up roller(s) not picking up. Clean them with a damp terry cloth towel or a multi-purpose cleaner.

If you did not get ALL the jammed sheet out, there is still a small piece of paper in there somewhere, probably covering a sensor or micro switch. Get a torch and look carefully. If you don't find anything you may need to disassemble the printer to find it.
