It sounds like the hi-limit thermostat. For your dryer that would be Frigidaire part number 5303281113 shown below. The part is located behind the drum. You will need to take the back off of the unit to access the part. Sears carries the part.

  1. Take the back cover off of the dryer
  2. locate the part
  3. unplug one of the two wires from the old part
  4. plug that wire into the same post on the new part
  5. unplug the remaining wire from the old part
  6. plug the other wire into the new part
  7. unfasten and remove the old thermostat (with no wires)
  8. fasten the new part (with wires) into the old parts place
  9. run the dryer to see if the fix works
  10. replace the back cover on the dryer.
Steps 3 through 6 above insures that you get the two wires installed correctly. Hi I have a dryer - ddmagee57.jpg

Frigidaire Affinity AEQ6700FSO electric dryer does not heat, then shuts off within 10 minutes.

Hello Scott Joseph Brandt - Since you have already replaced the thermal limiter check your breaker or fuses. Some dryers are run by two separate fuses, one for power and one for heat-ours is. If it is not the power source more than likely the issue lies with your heating coil.

Hello,

The gas coils have failed. These are the two round devices on the gas valve. You would need to open the dryer to access and replace the gas valves. Every make and model is different.

With the model number I would be able to better assist you.

Whirlpool LER4634EQO Runs for about 2 minuts and shuts off.

It is possible your Cycling Themostat is not working properly. It determines at what temperature to turn heat on and off to maintain a consistent dryer temp. The High Limit Thermostat would turn off the heat but your dryer would still run. That leaves the Thermal Cut Off which is turning off your dryer. It might be faulty and turning off at too low a temp, or it might be doing it's job. In that case something else is wrong. If you can check the exhaust air temperature at the dryer, it should be under 175 degrees. If you are absolutely sure the vent is clear, then replace the Dryer Cycling Thermostat.
