When I boot up my emachines desktop half of the screen is black

Possible causes of this problem include:

1.) A loose connection either of the graphics card or the cables to and from the monitor/graphics card.
2.) A faulty graphics card.
3.) A faulty monitor.
4.) A bad Graphics driver. See this guide entitled How to install Graphics Drivers, Nvidia and AMD Radeon!!!

Remove the graphics card and clean the gold fingers with tissue paper. Clean as mush dust as you can out of the system.

My mothers T3120 emachine scrambles after booting up and then the screen becomes black. I noticed that the fan attached to the motherboard, reduces speed when this happens. After attempting to restart

Sounds like a config problem and how to fix is hit F8 at boot, then go in safe mode.When you get on your desktop, go to the run box type msconfig/startup and uncheck all but network.Need more help come to my website at http://www.ezsystemrepairs.com/.

Emachine T4060 -black screen-no cd-rom boot

Hi,
If it is DVD Drive, then sometimes in BIOS you'll also find the option for DVD Drive together with CD Drive. Choose the correct one and boot your PC.
