I just recently bought a sylvania netbook that runs windows ce.I really dont know much else about it.Ive tried downloading some games and it says that its not a windows ce file or something.Ive also noticed that there is several things it wont let me open online.Is there anything that i can do or use with this netbook?games?

I'm reading that it has a windows operating system. In this case, I would open setting and search for the "factory reset" option within that folder. Otherwise, you can just use the general desktop search to search for the "factory reset" option and choose that and follow the instructions on screen to activate the factory reset. But I would ask that you back up any data first because all data on the device will be deleted.

Your netbook doesn't run Windows XP, it uses a cheap version called Windows CE, which is more designed for phones. The reason that you can't install Firefox or Chrome is because Windows CE doesn't support programs designed for Windows XP, Vista, or 7. You can try installing Opera Mini by going to m.opera.com, but there no guarantee that it will work.

This device only runs Adobe Flash Lite, which is pre-installed.
As a result, many Flash sites will not work with this Netbook.
None of the full flash players will install on this device since it does not run Windows XP or Windows Vista or Windows 7 - it only runs the stripped down Windows CE which is one of the reasons it is so inexpensive.

Those particular netbooks are loaded with versions of Windows CE which is very very different from the other versions of Windows, so prgrams that you could just download for like windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, won't necessarily work on a Windows CE machine. Windows CE is a small embedded operating system that can have very specific features. The main issue you're going to encounter is that Windows CE can be "tailor-made" for each company that orders copies of it, so you will have to contact Sylvania and find out the exact features of the Operating System that they ordered from Microsoft. HOWEVER, I have heard rumors of Flash Lite for the Pocet PC working on the Sylvania netbooks, so you can attempt to download that.

Hello, from what I understand, the netbook doesn't use an Intel-standard processor, so only code specifically for that chip will run, ie, no downloadable plug-ins,java, flash etc. CE itself is based on windows 98. It is my understanding that Flash Player only works with certain versions of Windows. Check the Microsoft website to verify whether or not it supports Windows CE.

ok sounds like you have a bit of a problem here. this device should not come with Windows CE installed on it.
Did you get any isntallation disks with the device? if so try re-installing the operating system that came with the device.

The Sylvania 7" G-Netbook PC uses Windows CE. The only way to install SOFTWARE (not spyware) on it, is downloading only software for Windows CE.

You can find software in internet using google: "windows ce download shareware"

This is a very limited machine, the only thing that you can do with it is read Emails and go to the internet and look at some you tube. There is not enough memory to support detail such as facebook. The browser I.E. for CE is also very limited and some sites will not down load to it as it is recognized as a outdated program. Since there is no way to download games and play them you are out of luck.
