I have the same problem with my KitchenAid. When we turn it off and restart it, it seems to do okay. An easy fix is mentioned, but not told. Are there further instructions somewhere we could follow?

Sanquinn, hopefully it's just the overload and relay. Remove the back cover in back by the compressor. On the left side of the compressor will be the overload and relay, connected to the compressor. If they are contained in a white casing, unplug the refer and remove it. Shake it and see if it rattles. If so that's probably your problem. This unit does have a electronic defrost board that could also be the culprit, but start with that overload and relay. You will save yourself a ton of money if that's whats bad. Easy fix. Post back and we'll take it from there. Catriver

Sanquinn, ok, does the compresser start when you plug in the refer? Or does it just humm and the overload clicks about every 5 minutes. Can you use a meter? First I need to know if the compresser is running or not. If not the next move would to see if we have power to it. Post back, Catriver.

its defrosting and the drain is probably plugged keep door closed and unplug for a few hours your problem should clear up, there might be some water in the fridge and on the floor no need to panic if this does not work you might have to get a repair man to clean out the drain

My Kitchen Aid Superba refrigerator Model # KSRS25FGWH01 stopped working. no fans come on no noise only fridge lights. working the other day but fridge was not cold enough freezer was fine now nothing

The machine goes into the defrost mode every day or two. During defrost mode you will see these symptoms. After an hour or two, it should return to normal. If not, the defrost timer may be stuck in the defrost position.

Refrigerator motherboard How can I tell if the motherboard of my kitchen Aid refrigerator went bad

Make sure your fridge doesn't have a recall for evaporator as is the case on my fridge I also thought it was electronic and first tech thought it was a leak in reality the evaporator was clogging and causing freon to not keep fridge cold or freezer to work properly but kitchen aid won't let you know you will have to let a tech look that info up for you.

Freezer not getting cold and dripping water

I own a similar Kitchen Aid fridge that had a defrost icing issue: Kitchen Aid KSRP25FNBL00
> Ice had plugged the drain hole at bottom of chill coil section inside the freezer compartment.
> I learned that the coil, circulation fan was not working, but condenser was working.
> I paid a tech to replace the circ fan, about $200, including a new swiss-made fan. He said it was unusual for these fans to fail, but not unheard of.
Expensive, but saved the purchase of a new fridge. Has worked great for 6 months since then.
HOpe that helps.

KITCHEN AID REFRIGERATOR PROBLEM We bought a used Kitchen Aid fridge YKSRS22Q (1993), the ice maker is not working but water does work. What should we check to see why the ice maker doesn't work?

Ice makers work off of temperature. If it's not cold enough in the freezer it won't work. Check the temperature with a thermometer, it should be 0 to +10F

I have a kitchen aid superba ksrg22fkss15 side by side fridge. Last night the freezer stopped working and I am still trying to determine if the fridge side is working. I pulled off the front and back and...

Can you hear if the compressor is running? The high pressure side of the compressor should be too hot to touch, over 140 F. I assume you mean the condenser fan motor at the bottom of the unit. Try to feel how cold the evaporator coil inside the refrigerator box is. A small capillary tube enters one end of the evaporator. That is the coldest spot. It should still feel at least 35 degrees or colder at the other end of the evaporator where the larger suction line is located. The whole evaporator should be cold. A small portion or none of the evaporator is cold means it is not working. The freezer evaporator should be near -30 F.

My Kitchen Aid will refrigerator motor keeps running. Things are cold but the motor sense like it is always running.

If it is not freezing up or set too cold, you may be losing coldness somewhere. Are the seals all in good order? Do you open it very often and leave the door open? Do you put hot stuff in the fridge? All these things would contribute to that problem.

KSRG25FKWH04 is not getting cold its a kitchen aid side by side

See if you can hear the evaporator fan motor running in the freezer, if not, you need to replace it because it forces the cold air from the freezer into the fridge section to keep it cold.

Freezer has frost building and the refridgerator is too warm.

make sure the evaporator fan is working, open door and push switch in if fan works make sure opening from freezer to fridge is not blocked. if door was removed make sure light in fridge is shuting off if temp in fridge is in the 50 degree range your light switch is not being deactivated check spacers between door and hinge . sometimes when door is removed a spacer will fall on floor and light switch is not hitting door
