Anonymous Posted on Apr 26, 2011

Every time I try to access some sites or games I get a notification which says that i can not access them due to restrictions of the linksys router. For example I can not access some features at the playstation network. Is there any way to disable those restrictions?

Access your router via the built in configuration page, default is http://192.168.1.1. I'm assuming you're the administrator; If not, contact him/her. At the top of the window, select the "Access Restrictions" tab. The policies will be listed and can be modified.

Blocked Services: You may choose to block access to certain services. Click Add/Edit Services to modify these settings.

Website Blocking by URL: You can block access to certain websites by entering their URL.

Website Blocking by Keyword: You can block access to certain website by the keywords contained in their webpage.

Thank you. However being an administrator doesnt mean that I know the Username and Password. Are they the ones I use for connection to the router? Or?

If you have never changed it, the username should be blank and the password is "admin"

I can access to other sites but i am not able to access facebook. May i know whats the problem behind it?

Sounds like parental controls. If you are sure it is in the router and not security software installed on the computer log into the router from a html browser, IE, Firefox yada yada. 192.168.1.1 name field blank password as admin. On the Access restrictions tab, which goes from left to right , Setup Tab, Wireless, Security, Access Restrictions. Then Internet Access. See if you find any policies listed there.

How do i setup my router to shut down the udp port at a certain time....xbox live is what i'm trying to control

Your router does not have the advanced features that would be needed to do this. However, this can be controlled using parental controls on xbox live. Here is a link: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/familysettings/xbox360/familysettings-intro.htm

I have a problem it's so medium , but i can't do it....bcz my linksys wrt54gs router are work but i can't block websites using this what solution to solve this...???

Are you able to access the admin board of your router ban sites based on the IP address? If this is uncomfortable for you, another option would be to block sites from the "security" tab of your Internet Options. You can access these options from your control panel or from your tool bar in your browser window. Just use the "restrict" option and add the url of the site you wish to block.
Hope that helped.

ROUTER ACCESS ON 192.168.1.1

This happens due to user restrictions on your router make sure the user name and passwords.

If u forgot them u can reset the router by pressing the reset button on router. After some time the router will start and u can access the router with default passwords.

Hope this will be helpfull.

Access and restrictions

You should block it by keywords. Please re-do your Access and Restrictions settings. By the way, you should do it on the router's Setup Page.

Router is blocking a site

if you can then just reset your router to factory reset option on your router's backside

if you want to go manualy
1 connect any pc to your router
2 go to internet explorer
3 type 192.168.1.1 (which is default ip address for any linksys router)
4 once got access of your router
5 go to access restriction in router
here you can find blocked services / blocked sites and blocked urls find out your services and remove it from that list
and save setings and restart router
