I think I fixed it, With the unit off, I held in the Page button and at the same time held the power up button until the not for navigation screen popped up, This was supposed to have reset(reboot) the unit. I now longer have the problem. Also they say that you can hold the zoom in and out together and the power up button, this will also help BUT you will lose your saved items including waypoints.

I have a similar problem with my 332C and when I did the recommended fix nothing changed it continues to loose the debt. The screen will go from 0 to 500 feet then goes white with little small specks and on the right side of it will go up and down the debt scale. It just keeps doing that, then all of a sudden, it comes back on working fine for awhile. I thought it was just the transducer but when I put it on my old black and white unit, it works just fine.

I would verify that your "chart speed" is set to 100%.

How can a lowrance 5300 globalmap iGPS be used as a fishfinder.

Sadly, the 5300 does not have fishfinder/depth capability.
If you require it, the link below is for the owners manual for your unit.
Sorry I couldn't have given you happier news.

How do i find water depth

Water depth should show automatically on your sonar page.
if it does not then either you have selected "stop sonar" under your sonar options or you have opted to turn off the depth displayou so the numbers don't show up.
if you areally viewing your GPS or split screen sonar/GPS page, sometimes the depth display is not visible on these pages unless you specifically instruct the unit to display it.

Here is a link to Lowrance where you can download a pic version of the operators manual.
Go to page 11 "overlay data" this will give you a step by step of how to add data or readouts to different screens.

My fishfinder will not continue to read shallow depths as well as in shallow depths when drifting and occasionally running across the water. My unit is a lowrance 522c color gps/fishfinder.

Hello. Your observation is spot on and it is actually a characteristic that is always true when using sonar. Yes, your Lowrance uses the same sonar as a nuclear powered submarine does. The two factors you focus on, water depth and boat speed are perhaps, the two biggest factors when it comes to the quality of the fishfinder. The boat's engine should be in gear at an idle or just above. Experiment with your boat to find the best throttle location for good arches. Usually, a slow trolling speed works best. The depth of the fish can determine if the fish will arch on the screen. If the fish is in shallow water, the fish is not in the cone angle very long, making it difficult to show an arch. Typically, the deeper the fish, the easier it is to show an arch.

Lowrance x96 does not function after 20 feet depth

Your transducer needs to be adjusted so the return signal can be picked up. Some of these have to be super tuned to receive the signal. Also the transducer may be moving ever so slightly when the boat is traveling at speed. You may have some water turbulence interference all contibute to signal return.

Loosing position on GPS

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like your internal module is on the fritz. I am pretty sure you can buy a external puck and a harness and it will work perfect. I did that with my hummingbird 997.

Gps wont pick up satilites

Make sure all the connections at the back of the unit are tight. If it still doesn't respond try a new puck.
