Hp laserjet 2200 does not print but the attention light is on

just inspect your printer's front cover.there r two plastic stick which is attached with the printer cover.this two stick hit the two particular point.
1.power switch conector(left side corner)
2. scanner sensor conector(right side middle)

i think your left side stick may be broke try it.

Replace toner cartridge. If problem persist replace fuser unit. P/N # RG5-5559

A little late in the game to be answering, but I hope it helps someone who happens across this.

I assume by the "attention light" you mean the amber light next to the triangle with the exclamation mark next to it (third light up from bottom). This indicates a problem with the media/paper. Most cases it's because it ran out of paper. If there is paper, it's probably a jam inside the printer. When I had it happen, I removed the imaging drum and was able to pull the stuck piece of paper out. After replacing the imaging drum and closing the cover, it worked again.

Another possibility is the cover is ajar. The last possibility is that there is a problem with the fuser ($$) that may require its replacement. There is a service manual for this printer, available through HP that is handy for diagnosing and repairing problems, but is not available as a free download.
