Yes, you can use an external AC charger to charge it. The charging specification is between 100-240V 50HZ. So your mp3 is safe for charging. Goodluck.

Can I recharge the battery of my Sandisk Sansa Clip MP3 player without using my computer?

Yes. AC to USB adapters are available anywhere cell phone chargers are sold. One end plugs into a wall outlet and you can plug the USB cord from your Sansa into the other end. I use such a device every night to charge my Sansa.

How to charge sansa clip when computer doesn't recognize it

Go to the SanDisk website for drivers; select Sansa for product, choose your operating system from the other scroll down menu. Download and install software. Also if using Windows, make sure your windows media player is the latest version.

Alternativly you can use a AC to USB adapter to plug your Sansa Cable into a wall jack.

Will not recharge

Have you tried plugging this into a USB2.0 port ? sometimes, some of the usb ports dont not have enough power to charge some players.

Which is which is why, sometimes, (seen very often with external hard drivers) there are two usb plugs on the computer side which needs to be connected.

1) Try another USB port, or another computer (especially is this is a laptop, some of the ports are under powered, to save power)

2) if you have an AC Adaptor to charge this, try it with that

My Sansa Clip won't turn on even thought the battery is full.

Unfortunately there was a manufacturing flaw with many Sansa Clips which caused one of the battery leads to detach from the battery. A symptom of this is that the Clip will turn on and charge when connected to an external power source, such as USB or an AC adapter, but will not actually turn on using the internal power source (eg, the battery).

If your Clip is still under warranty, you should return it for a refund or an exchange.

How do i change the battery

  1. Remove the cap over the USB plug and insert the unit into the USB port of a desktop or laptop computer. The computer will recognize the Sansa Express as a new hard disk drive.

  2. Locate the battery icon on the upper right of the screen. The battery icon will fill in with color as the unit charges. When the icon is filled in, the charge is complete. The unit will fully charge in about 3 hours as long as the desktop computer or laptop is powered on.

  3. Plug the unit into the USB port of a car or AC adapter and then plug the adapter into an AC outlet or an auto cigarette lighter socket, as the case may be. The Sansa Express will charge in about 3 hours.

My sansa e250 could not be detected on my computer

In Normal conditions, after plugging in the MP3, amd waiting one or two minutes, the device should be installed automatically by the system. This works in the same way on Vista and on XP. On Windows 98 and Me the device may not work. After the MP3 is installed, you can reach the Sansa under My Computer (Computer). It will be displayed as an external disk named Sansa. If you are using an USB extension or an USB external hub, get rid of it. Try plugging the MP3 to a different USB port. Try unplugging AC charger, and removing laptop batter for ten minutes, sometimes this can fix problems caused by accumulation of electrostatic charges on USB controller. If that does not solve the problem, test a different USB device on the same laptop, and test the MP3 on a different computer. Either one may be faulty. If the problem is the laptop you may fix it by removing and reinstalling USB root hub on hardware devices in Control Panel.

Battery
The Sansa

the very first time, remember to fully charge the battery. You can charge your Sansa

1. Connect the larger end of the USB cable into an available USB port on the
computer.
2. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable into the Sansa

3. The computer must be on for most USB ports to charge your battery. Your

Battery wont charge with an AC adaptor

Dear Verona,

Sandisk is a brand that is best used with its own. There are two degrees of separation here. 1) It is a cell phone charger
2) The charger is not in its family.

With both things working against the machine, it is not a surprise it will not fully charge.
