Hi!
You can try the following steps:
1. Click on "Start" and then click on "Control Panel."

2. Double-click on "Backup and Restore Center" if you are using Windows Vista. If you are using Windows 7, click on "System and Maintenance" and then click on "Backup and Restore."

3. Click on the "Create a system repair disc" button in the pane on the left-hand side of the window. A new dialog box will open.

4. Insert a blank DVD (or CD if you do not have a DVD, but you may need to use several CDs, so a DVD is better).

5. Click on the drop-down menu in the dialog box and select the DVD that you inserted into your DVD drive.

6. Click on "Create disc." Wait for the green progress bar to fill while the disc is written. When this is done, a new box will open with a message telling you how to label the disc.

7. Label the disc according to the name in this message and then click on the "Close" button to close the box.

8.

Click on "OK" to close the next box and then close the Control Panel.

9. Remove the recovery disc from your computer and put it somewhere safe until you need it.

Hope this helps. Thanks.

Ive lost a recovery disk and now i cant reinstall,is there any way i can download off the net and make new recovery disks?

Two seperate issues. You can order new disks on ebay for example but if your product key is unreadable you need to purchase a new key.

How to factory reset without recovery disk

When you need to recover part or all of the files on your Acer Veriton M460 desktop computer, Acer makes it easy to do by offering a built-in recovery program called eRecovery Management.
This option uses clean operating system files, usually stored on a separate partition of your hard drive, to correct errors or return the system to its original factory settings.
You can also use this program to write separate hard copies of the eRecovery program onto CDs or DVDs in case of hard drive failure.
Create Backup Disks

If your M460 did not come with separate recovery disks, and many machines don't in recent years, you can create your own through "Acer's eRecovery Management" program located under the "Start" menu.
Click on "Backup," select "Create Factory Default Disk" and follow the on-screen directions.
The program will inform you of the number of CDs or DVDs you need and help you through their creation.
Recovery with Disks
To use your created disks for recovery, place the first disk in the optical drive and reboot the system. As it boots, hold the "ALT" key and tap "F10" repeatedly until the computer boots and you see a screen titled "Starting Acer eRecovery."
You will see three options for recovery: to factory default, from user backup or from CD/DVD. Choose the option you desire and follow the on-screen directions to initiate the recovery sequence.
Recovery from the Hard Drive

Since Acer places the eRecovery Management program directly onto the computer, you can run the recovery option while in your desktop.
Open the "Acer eRecovery Management" program under the "Start" menu and click "Restore." You can choose to restore the computer to factory defaults and lose all the personal data stored on the hard drive or only restore the operating system and leave your data intact.
Select "Yes" on the confirmation screen and then "OK" to start the program.
Recovery Vs. Restore
When performing computer problem solving, the term "recovery" is often used interchangeably with the word "restore."
In some cases, "recovery" can mean to simply correct problems, such as replacing corrupted operating system files with good ones.
The term can also refer to "recovering" the system to its fresh-from-the-factory state, which is what "restore" means as well.
Restore Drivers or Applications

Acer's eRecovery Management program also offers the option to reinstall drivers or applications, which could become corrupted or damaged over time.
This option allows you to replace the current drivers for your Windows operating system with the ones originally installed on your system.
Under the "Restore" tab of the "Acer eRecovery Management" program, click "Reinstall Drivers or Applications" to see the content list and select the files you'd like to recover.

Erecovery management for acer aspire one without disk drive wont run

Ask acer for this problem, when you buy a laptop you need to make recovery discs, you prolly did not do that. So now it asks for recovery files on the dvd disc.
If it has no dvd drive you should have made them on a usb drive.
If acer cant help you with that, reinstall windows thats the only option.
Partitions hidden can be removed but then there is no way to restore the pc to factorydefaults anymore.

When you decide to reinstall windows, you will see 3 partitions, remove them all, then make 1 partition click next and it will make a little partition for system files. the rest is used for windows, untill u partition the rest, like a d: e: drive.

Instead of going with a backup and recovery try the destructive recovery option which will wipe off the entire harddrive and take the system to day one settings.

I have an Acer Aspire 5720, ive had it for a year now and it is starting to slow down. I have lost the booklet to it and i need to do a master reset on it. Ive already backed everything up im just finding...

This was taken straight out of the manual for your model, which can be found here.

Acer eRecovery Management
Acer eRecovery Management is a tool to quickly backup and restore the system.
You can create and save a backup of the current system configuration to hard
disk, CD or DVD. You can also backup/restore the factory default image, and
reinstall applications and drivers.

Acer eRecovery Management consists of the following functions:

1 Create backup
2 Burn backup disc
3 Restore and recovery

This chapter will guide you through each process.
Note: This feature is only available on certain models. For systems
that do not have a built-in optical disc burner, plug in an external
optical disc burner before entering Acer eRecovery Management
for optical disc-related tasks.

When using Acer eRecovery Management, you may be prompted to enter the
Empowering Technology password to proceed. The Empowering Technology
password is set using the Empowering Technology toolbar or when first running
Acer eLock Management or Acer eRecovery Management.

Create backup

You can easily create full and fast (incremental) backup images of your system
configuration to hard disk from the main Acer eRecovery Management screen.
Note: Fast (incremental) Backup is only available after a Full
Backup is made.

1 Press <Alt> + <F10> or select Acer eRecovery Management from the
Empowering Technology toolbar to start Acer eRecovery Management.
2 In the Acer eRecovery Management window, select the type of backup you
want to create using Full or Fast.
3 Follow the instructions on screen to complete the process.

Burn backup disc
Using the Burn Disc page of Acer eRecovery Management, you can burn the
factory default image, a user backup image, the current system configuration,
or an application backup image to CD or DVD.
1 Press <Alt> + <F10> or select Acer eRecovery Management from the
Empowering Technology toolbar to start Acer eRecovery Management.
2 Switch to the Burn Disc page by selecting the Burn Disc button.
3 Select the type of backup (factory default, user, current system,
application) you would like to burn to disc. Choosing to burn a user backup
will burn your most recently created backup image to disc.
4 Follow the instructions on screen to complete the process.
Note: Create a factory default image when you want to burn a
bootable disc that contains your computer's entire operating
system as it was delivered to you from the factory. If you wish to
have a disc that will allow you to browse the contents and install
selected drivers and applications, create an application backup
image instead — this disc will not be bootable.

created CD and DVD backups. You can also reinstall applications and drivers for
