How can remove sleep timer in a sharp tv

Hi,

You will need to use the remote that came with the TV and press the sleep timer button to cycle through the settings. One of the settings it will cycle to is off.

If you don't have the original remote for your Sharp, you will likely find the original or a replacement that will work for your sharp at www.remotes.com They also can help you over the phone if you call them at 1-800-736-6837.

I just bought Samsung UHD TV SERIES7 no where manual shows how to set sleep timer

The sleep timer is accessed through the Menu under System > Time. You may need to set the TV time first which is in the same sub-menu area. For the sleep timer using the smart control, press Menu/123. Use the pointer button to steer to Menu then press the Pointer. Repeat this to select System. Select Time. Then select Sleep Timer and choose your time (up to three hours) when you want the TV to turn off. From the regular remote, press Menu. Use the arrow keys and press OK to move through the above menu steps. You can also do this from the Menu button on the Control Stick (joystick type control) on the back of the TV (lower left-hand side).

See page 126 (page 132 of the PDF) of the e-manual for the JU7000 series TVs for additional information or the section on setting the TV time. The e-manual is available online or through the TV. To read this manual, press the e-manual button on the regular remote. If you have the smart control, press Menu/123. Then select the e-manual from the on-screen remote. Alternatively, press Menu and then select Support > e-manual. The quick guide does not have the information on setting the timer. See https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/UE40JU7000TXXU/ under the Download Manual section. You may need to expand the list.

I hope this helps.

Why does my tv turn off automaticly

Some tvs have a sleep timer on it and if it is accidently programmed the tv will turn off at a certain time. You may want to look at the users manual for more info. Or call a local place that fixs tv's for some more input before paying someone or getting a new tv. I had a tv once and it did the same think. I had to get into the menu with the remote and figure it out it had something to do with a set sleep timer so the tv would shut off at a certain time if the timer was set. It sucks if you dont have a remote though hopefully you do. Good luck. M Some tvs have a sleep timer on it and if it is accidently programmed the tv will turn off at a certain time. How do I set the sleep timer? We got the tv from a friend and it had no manuel.

Programming the Sleep Timer:

  1. Press and release the TV key.
  2. Press and hold the SLEEP key for three seconds. The illuminated component name turns on.
  3. Release the SLEEP key.
  4. Using the number keys, enter the desired time in minutes (from 1-99 minutes). To set the timer to an umber under 10 minutes, first press 0 and then the desired number (e.g.,05 for five minutes). The illuminated component name blinks with each key press.
  5. Once the second number is entered, the illuminated component name turns off.
Tip Any key press other than the number keys is ignored. If you don't enter the sleep time within 10 seconds after pressing the SLEEP key, you must start over at step 1. The illuminated component name blinks four times and then turns off, indicating your attempt to program the Sleep Timer has been unsuccessful.
  6. The Sleep Timer is now set.
  7. Leave remote aimed at the TV. Once the Sleep Timer is set, you can continue to use the remote without affecting the Sleep Timer. However, because the timing mechanism for the Sleep Timer is built into the remote itself, the remote must be in TV Mode and pointed at the TV to activate the Sleep Timer.
Note: If the ON·OFF key is pressed, the Sleep Timer is canceled.

Since changing to freeview in april i no longer need the use of the original tv remote as the new remote is being used. my problem now is i cant find how to set the tv to sleep mode shud i fall asleep...

Your new FreeView remote will only support the essential functions of your tv. In some cases that's limited to volume up and down, sound mute and on/off only, but often they can do more. Sleep timers are rarely supported.

Your fix is to either set the sleep timer on the old remote, or to buy another fully programmable learning remote control, where you can customise almost every button and use your old remote to teach the learning version its tricks.

TV will not come on with remote or power button

The following instructions are for the Emerson EWC1303/1903 tv/vcr. That's the closest match I could find to the Spongebob Squarepants 13' TV
If it's actually in Sleep mode, do the following:

TO CANCEL THE SLEEP TIMER
Press the WAKE UP/SLEEP button on the remote
control until “SLEEP TIMER” appears.
To view the time left for sleep timer press the WAKE
UP/SLEEP button twice, then press the MENU button
on the remote control to exit the sleep timer setting

If unsuccessful, try unplugging the TV for 1/2 hour, then plug it in and try turning it back on either manually or with the remote. Either of these should solve your problem. Best of luck to you!

This TV has a sleep mode

There are two ways to solve this, but both will require using the original remote for the Magnavox. The original remote has a SLEEP button - press it until the screen says Sleep DISABLED or Sleep OFF.

Or make sure the TV is in TV mode, and Press Menu --> TV Steup --> Sleep Timer --> change to DISABLED
